I have done many successful transactions on ebay, it's best to get a pay-pal account to pay for your purchases, then you get protection from ebay and pay-pal.

Ali, any transaction in the Internet in volnerable,so if you pay with your credit card in the Internet, try in your credit card account to have enough to pay only, what required for your "goods" you are going to purchase.

I use ebay a lot Ali. The only problem I have ever had has been buying second hand things. I bought a second hand SONY stereo for my Ford Mondeo which worked for all of a week. It would have ended up costing me more in postage to return it than it was worth. I had similar experiences with three model railway engines.

However, anything I've bought and we're talking at least 100 items new has been ok.... with the exception of a couple of spurious suspension mount bearings for the same Mondeo. They were made of toffee I think and lasted less than 3 months before we had to drop the suspension again.

Oh and Paypal all the way as has been said. They can't take out what you haven't approved. conversing

That has to be some kind of record, Chris. If you're not the only Man in Greece to have been offered a job this year then you're surely the only Man to have turned one down.

Computers and the internet are two subjects - like make-up & hair - where I am proud to state that I know absolutely nothing about them.

I used Ebay once, which resulted in four dust-gathering paperback copies of the Hypnotist. Technology can be one step forward two steps back: I think I'll stick to my traditional re of books stolen from the town library.

I purchased a truck on Ebay and flew out to Boston to pick it up. I live in Cleveland.

Worked half a day, drove myself to the airport, landed in Boston. The guy picked me up, drove back to the dealership and took care of some paperwork. I shook his hand, filled up the gas tank, and drove straight through back home. Arrived back in Cleveland at 7am next morning.

The truck was as expected. No problems whatsoever with the vehicle or transaction.

I personally boycott ebay, and will not buy anything from that site, ever. But it should be as secure as any other online transaction. Everything is secure till proven otherwise.

My ex buys stuff on the Internet and on Ebay all the time. I also supposedly have a PayPal account, but don't remember any login information, which kind of renders the account moot. In which case, I wonder how merchants even get paid if I ordered stuff, since I have no clue how to get to my PayPal account.

EBay is awesome Ali, I buy from there all the time! From all over. We buy a lot of accessories for our cell phones, cameras and such (I say accessories, not actual cell phones or cameras those I purchase locally).

Just bought something last night from EBay.

One time I saw an vintage 1950s clock in an Antique shop in Washington, I wanted it REALLY bad but it was $125. When I got back to California I looked on EBay and actually found the exact one for $20!! I love it!!

It's a great site. Just have to use your head like any other website.

The answer is they won't get paid without confirmation from paypal, but don't worry they won't accept your order for the same reason.
