ooby_dooby: Prior to OK city you could go into the co-op and buy a 50 lb bag of hi concentration Amonium Nitrate fertilizer whenever you wanted or have 5 tons delivered to your house nobody would even think about it. Not anymore. I think most farmers are using liquid fertilizer these days but I'm not really sure. The new boom trucks they have now make it so much easier to apply. The same goes for Nitro Methane McVeigh used by the drum to make that truck bomb. Try to buy that crap in quantities today. Aint happening.
The bad guys will get it (fertilizer) if they want it, or any suitable substitute.....Just like the bad guy got the explosives used in the basement bombing of the World Trade Center towers in 1993. There were 50,000 people in the towers when that bomb was detonated!
The point here is, no matter what you take away, the bad guy will work around it, so why take away the right to carry and bear arms from the good guy who want to protect themselves, family, friends and property from bad guys, including the government...
I'm sure you are read on Jefferson and the other founding fathers. They knew first hand what corrupt governments do to citizens rights and freedoms... They recommended we do the same as they did if faced with the same or similar issues they faced.
George Washington and the rest of the signers of our declaration of independence knew full well that they would pay the price by being hung for high treason if they lost their attempt for Freedom. Guns represent Freedom and the Democrats don't like that.
Gun prohibitions in other countries haven't worked. It's nothing but a big lie if anyone says the government can and will be there when you need them for protection. That just is not possible and I'm surprised anyone would fall for that nonsense lie!
Our Constitutional Republic isn't perfect, but show me one better! Guns represent Freedom.
Ccincy: So you believe whatever the news media says? I'm glad I don't.That's why I go to the source itself when possible and not rely on news reports.
Well I believe this report. I saw it on the news and now it's printed.
We, most of us, know about the man in New York who set his house on fire to lure firefighters to the scene so he could kill them.
He was a felon and not supposed to be able to buy a gun. So, how did he get the guns he used to kill the firemen.
Well, somebody else bought them for him. Not the exact same situation as what happened in Newton, CT but, a situation where somebody else buys the weapons....not the killer.
Are the guns at fault for killing the firemen...OR... is this woman at fault?
The woman who bought the guns is now in police custody. She has the death of those firefighters on her hands and I hope they put her away forever.

Not trying to pick a fight with you monte and I'm glad that you believe what the media says or prints but I don't.It's your right to beleive whatever you choose.
I caught our local news media here in Ohio in a lie and how they had mis-informed the public about a particular issue.
The media the very first time regarding the guy who killed the firefighters the media mentioned the wrong guys name in the news report.then they turned around and did a retraction.
Gun deaths and injuries have dropped sharply in California, even as the number of guns sold in the state has risen, according to new state data.
Dealers sold 600,000 guns in California last year, up from 350,000 in 2002, according to records of sale tallied by the California Attorney General's office.
During that same period, the number of California hospitalizations due to gun injuries declined from about 4,000 annually to 2,800, a roughly 25 percent drop, according to hospital records collected by the California Department of Public Health.
Firearm-related deaths fell from about 3,200 annually to about 2,800, an 11 percent drop, state health figures show.

The government is not going to take any those citizens guns that the 2nd amendment protects.
The criminals who break into people's homes while they are away and steal their guns - they are the ones who are taking the guns away -
Yes, everyone who ask that rational question, certainly must have the same conclusion our forepeoples had...
nothing has changed since then for the need to own and bear arms......

Not to worry Cincy. I wouldn't think of you picking a fight. You're detailed oriented just like I am so I understand why you are cautious to believe the link I posted. I do know that the woman is in police custody who bought the guns for the killer.

If the Gov is not taking our guns then why all the gun ban laws? The crooks don't go by those ban laws, and we all know that. The simple truth is the Gov IS taking our guns and for completely BS reasons to.

well said dude, peoples abroad live in luxury only because of americans with backbones owning guns to defend their Freedom, their lives and other's same..... Europeans either honestly don't realize this or are too arrogant to admit armed americans are the last stand to their own limited Freedom!

Arms represent Freedom!
I disagree.About them representing Freedom. And who's freedom would that exactly be?
Ccincy: I disagree.About them representing Freedom. And who's freedom would that exactly be?
Well, ok then, we disagree. Unlike some people believe today that things in general and human tendancies and behavior is different today and eliminating any need for owning and carrying arms, I believe guns are still needed for the same original reasons why our constitutional government guarantees our right to bear arms......
