Person of the Year ( Archived) (77)

Dec 29, 2012 11:42 AM CST Person of the Year
Who would you vote as "Person of the Year" for 2012?

“The person or persons who most affected the news and our lives, for good or for ill, and embodied what was important about the year, for better or for worse.”

Your choice(s) can be personal ones as well. Your Person of the Year doesn't necessarily need to be a well-known person(s) or group(s).

Note: I'm placing this thread in "Broken Hearts" because this category doesn't seem to have as much turn over as others. Hopefully, this thread won't be buried as quickly.

Since we can't name CS nanes on CS, I'll just hint at and say she lives in the USA.

You have my permission to name here the person you feel is Your Person of the Year. I don't believe the topic of this thread would break any CS rules, as long as no bashing takes place. nerd

Good monring JeanK. wave
We have snow here in St. Louis this morning. applause

I stole Time Magazine's criteria for Person of the Year. Time named Barack Obama as Person of the Year for a 2nd time.

But please keep in mind, your personal choice(s) can be anyone. From someone well-known, to someone close to you, and it also doesn't need to be an individual, but a group as well.

I would name my prior department director.

He is an incredible leader - left to work in private enterprise.

At work, I feel like I lost a member of the family. He is known in this area as great at implement programs to end homelessness - won an award by our community too. Was of course only in our local news.

Are you going to give your choice here too? Stay warm.

Your Person sounds like one of my choices. I have several Persons of the Year that I'll sneak in here one at a time.

One of mine is my Boss. He not only influences and changes people's lives, but he has a direct influence on Who I am, and Where I am, today.

But does my "whiney-mess", "pain in the backside", "moody", "tempermental", etc. fit the criteria?

My Person of the Year is 15 year old Malala Yousufzai. She is the Pakistani girl who believes that every girl has a right to an education. The Taliban tried to kill her, but her will to live saved her life and now she is recuperating in a hospital in the U.K.
