\I agree, things do happen, sometimes if we push too hard it is a mess, if we become impatient we miss out on some wonderful things. I think I would just ask him straight up if he was going to be able to use it soon. And if I was getting some kind of excuses over and over I would simply say " What is it you suggest we do" And if there is no answer then at least you know you tried. I sure would not suggest you send him money to get it fixed, though I know there are people that do!! LOL.

This happened to me the other month after I wrecked my car. I got a courtesy car, but otherwise I would have just rented one as there was no chance I would have been able to fix it. But I dunno, he might not have a lot of money so he might not want to rent one.
Give it a week or so and see what his line is then.
