If his answers and profile looked too good to be true, it probably wasn't true indeed and it was a scammer or at least someone with a tricked or fake profile.
So don't worry, nothing lost here.
Second option is that he was soooo disappointed by the results he got, he left by himself.
Third and not very likely option is that you were very rude to him and he blocked you.

If a member deletes their profile their emails don't disappear. That only happens when the mods kick someone off the site. Most likely it was a scammer who was sussed out my another member more experienced at spotting a scammer than you and reported him. Whoever that other member was did you a big favor because it sounds like you would have been taken for a ride.------ This thread is Archived ------

I'm pretty sure if the mods kick a member off the site everything disappears your & his. Perhaps, that person has deleted his/her profile.
Once, I was going to delete my profile and I did but doing that all my contacts were gone but CS gives a 30 days to reverse the deleting so did I but with not more contacts.
Perhaps, your friend has left the CS-town but he might come back.
