Looking through some of the atrocities Christians have caused over the years, I begin to wonder if there is anything Christian about Christianity? It all seems like smoke and mirrors to me.

*As soon as Christianity was legal (315), more and more pagan temples
were destroyed by Christian mob. Pagan priests were killed.

*Between 315 and 6th century thousands of pagan believers were slain.

*Examples of destroyed Temples the Sanctuary of Aesculap in Aegaea,
the Temple of Aphrodite in Golgatha, Aphaka in Lebanon, the
Heliopolis.

*Christian priests such as Mark of Arethusa or Cyrill of Heliopolis
were famous as "temple destroyer." *Pagan services became
punishable by death in 356.

*Christian Emperor Theodosius (408-450) even had children executed,
because they had been playing with remains of pagan statues.

According to Christian chroniclers he "followed meticulously all
Christian teachings..."

*In 6th century pagans were declared void of all rights.

*In the early fourth century the philosopher Sopatros was executed on
demand of Christian authorities.

*The world famous female philosopher Hypatia of Alexandria was torn to
pieces with glass fragments by a hysterical Christian mob led by a
Christian minister named Peter, in a church, in 415.

Mission

*Emperor Karl (Charlemagne) in 782 had 4500 Saxons, unwilling to
convert to Christianity, beheaded.

*Peasants of Steding (Germany) unwilling to pay suffocating church
taxes between 5,000 and 11,000 men, women and children slain
5/27/1234 near Altenesch/Germany.

*Battle of Belgrad 1456 80,000 Turks slaughtered.

*15th century Poland 1019 churches and 17987 villages plundered by
Knights of the Order. Victims unknown.

*16th and 17th century Ireland. English troops "pacified and
civilized" Ireland, where only Gaelic "wild Irish", "unreasonable
beasts lived without any knowledge of God or good manners, in common
of their goods, cattle, women, children and every other thing." One of
the more successful soldiers, a certain Humphrey Gilbert, half-brother
of Sir Walter Raleigh, ordered that "the heddes of all those (of what
sort soever thei were) which were killed in the daie, should be cutte
off from their bodies... and should bee laied on the ground by eche
side of the waie", which effort to civilize the Irish indeed caused
"greate terrour to the people when thei sawe the heddes of their dedde
fathers, brothers, children, kinsfolke, and freinds on the grounde".

Tens of thousands of Gaelic Irish fell victim to the carnage. [SH99,
225]

Good way to take the focus of the question, compare it to another worse than your belief system.

I think there is a difference between having a relationship with Jesus and being a ritualistic christian or hiding behind the name christian and doing bad...Im christian but I wouldnt hurt anyone unless in selfdefense...and all the bad things done in the name of christianity (or even islam) are done by people who twist things (like the bible) wrong and let ego's pride power & control get in the way and are the root cause of the evil acts...and those in power in the religions teach wrong things and not according to how Jesus taught to be peaceful...if people follow the truth then those other people lose control which is what they didnt want to have happen and accused innocent people of things they didnt do...every evil bad thing we do to others we will have to answer for whether you want to call it on Judgement Day or karma or whatever...There are people who arent labeled christian who are kinder than some christians...anyone can hide behind religion but dont blame God for humans choices and behaviours...

From what I've seen through documentaries, books, ect. all reliogions barrow from one and another. As well as are dirrectly related to each other. But you could say that I just have issues with organized reliogion. I do. I belive in ideas because they can be changed. And my idea is if you belive in a hirer power and you try to do good with out hirting any one. Whats the harm.

It is a lie to believe that God doesn't care about small sins or that hell is reserved for "bad people." All sin separates us from God, even a “little white lie.” Everyone has sinned, and no one is good enough to get to heaven on their own (Romans 3:23). Getting into heaven is not based on whether our good outweighs our bad; we will all lose out if that is the case. "And if by grace, then it is no longer by works; if it were, grace would no longer be grace" (Romans 11:6). We can do nothing good to earn our way to heaven (Titus 3:5).

"Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it" (Matthew 7:13). Even if everyone else is living a life of sin in a culture where trusting in God is not popular, God will not excuse it. "As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient" (Ephesians 2:1-2).

When God created the world, it was perfect and good. Then he made Adam and Eve and gave them their own free will, so they would have a choice whether to follow and obey God. But they were tempted by Satan to disobey God, and they sinned. This separated them (and everyone that came after them, including us) from being able to have a close relationship with God. He is perfect and holy and must judge sin. As sinners, we couldn't reconcile ourselves to God on our own. So God made a way that we could be united with Him in heaven. "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16). "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 6:23). Jesus was born to die for our sins so that we would not have to. Three days after His death, He rose from the grave (Romans 4:25), proving Himself victorious over death. He bridged the gap between God and man so that we may have a personal relationship with Him if we only believe.

"Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent" (John 17:3). Most people believe in God, even Satan does. But to receive salvation, we must turn to God, form a personal relationship, turn away from our sins, and follow Him. We must trust in Jesus with everything we have and everything we do. "This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference" (Romans 3:22). The Bible teaches that there is no other way to salvation than through Christ. Jesus says in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

Jesus is the only way of salvation because He is the only One who can pay our sin penalty (Romans 6:23). No other religion teaches the depth or seriousness of sin and its consequences. No other religion offers the infinite payment of sin that only Jesus Christ could provide. No other “religious founder” was God become man (John 1:1,14) – the only way an infinite debt could be paid. Jesus had to be God so that He could pay our debt. Jesus had to be man so He could die. Salvation is available only through faith in Jesus Christ! “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).

Christians better than Muslims? Way better? that is relative.

Fanatism from either -any- religion is bad.

However, fanatism is not exclusive of religious people and charity is not only done by Christians.

Those atrocities were caused in the name of Jesus and the faith. Oh but you’re going to say the name Jesus did not exist up until 400 years ago…right?

Why are you so hateful? Why did you create this thread? To show off your bigotry? Men are evil by nature. Every religious and non-religious group have their demons. Why do you single out Christians?

Because Christians tell lies and refuse to see facts when they are before them.

The bomb had to be invented first. You are a mass murderer.
