Personally, I don't believe any employee, in any field, should earn more than €100k.

Even that is excessive

Hey, it's a skilled job delivering the State's lie with just the right amount of chuckle, smarm and credibility.

How would we hallucinate that a hundred people in Dublin have authority over us if RTE and the other Statist media didn't keep creating the hallucination for us on a daily basis?

Imagine if they sold us the Nigerian scammers. We'd get a letter telling us to give up our bank details and we'd do it because we hallucinated they had authority over us. I wonder how much the Nigerians would pay RTE plastic heads for that service?

I agree. If anyone questions their salary they compare it to salaries from other countries.

But they forget to add there is an obvious, like really obvious difference to one of the big guns of broadcasting presenting a show to 280,000,000 Americans, and some bloke paid by the TV license, from a small population, living on a little island in the Atlantic ocean, having a nice job chatting to Brendan Grace on the late late.

When you cast your vote you gave your implied consent to the State to make decisions on your behalf. Therefore, when the State decided on how much of your money to give to the RTE presenters they did so with the imagined authority you gave them. Simples!

Well maybe we should question those people we voted for and ask them to change the salaries. I believe this to be the principles of a representative democracy. thumbs up

Yep the salary would be a good start as it has been proven that people loose touch when they are paid crazy amounts of money, all down through history there has never been a good system of government and marxism was the last disaster and they still havent given up trying, personaly I feel the best way forward is to work on what we have eventhough its only a small per cent democracy I think I will go with what George Orwell said that a government position should be an unenviable position and should be continuosly critisised.

Dont give a damn what theyre paid to be honest, I enjoy RTE radio, mostly Radio 1 and Lyric, but am a fan of Tubridy and Colm Hayes in the mornings on 2FM. Just because these guys are on air for a couple of hours doesnt mean thats all they work for, theres a lot of background work in compiling shows too.

cool

Thing is though if you cut their salary, won;t they all just head on over to the BBC/ITV/Ch4?

WESTERNSTAR1: but life would be so dull if one was to do that, are you mad ?

Moi, mad? Never!

conversing

Actually life is much more exciting and fulfilling when you plug out of their main stream propaganda hose. It's really living to think your own thoughts and not just parrot those of the talking heads you respect. But that's quite dangerous for them because after a while you start to see how unnecessary their little carnival act is and how it would cease to exist if people realised it was an act and just walked away. No revolution, no confrontation, just walk away. Go on. Plug it out. Go on, go on, go on.
