I wonder if this also applies, to my belief, that "the day I stop making mistakes is the day I stop".
We all should learn from our mistakes, how else do we really learn?
My father tried to teach me his trade but ..........
He never once said "I told you so" when I stuffed up.
I went to Bunnings today (okay, nursuries usually have someone trying to sell you plants as well) for some potting mix for my bromiliads which have so may pups shooting. Looked up the internet for how to keep them going. "Go for the Cynbidium Orchard mix" it said. Grabbed a bag of "Orchid Mix" but was not sure if it was the right one.
Along comes a 20+ girl asking if I need help. Bloody oath I need help here. Told her what I was looking for and she recommended something with a more suitable mix for what I wanted. I had grabbed the bag of the "Brand Name" I was familiar with but she told me the differences.
Okay, it was $1 more but did sound like what I was after. Soon find out.
Moral is, I might have a few grey hairs on the scalp (sign of wisdom?) but does not mean that I cannot listen to someone younger who might know more than me.
