What Tom didn't tell you with his copy and pasting, is that woad was used as war paint by the Celts. If you've seen the film 'Braveheart', the blue stuff they've got all over their faces during battle is woad.

My understanding is the Welsh Celts were originally a Germanic tribe who were pushed out of England by the Romans.

There are similarities between Welsh and German language and Welsh was the language of England before the Celts were forced westward.

I've also been told one of the original Scottish clan names (I can't remember which one) translates as 'the dark ones' from their Hindu descent.

The movement of peoples around the British Isles is so complex, using woad as war paint can hardly be claimed to be a British thing, unless you include those who live in Britain.

Make up face is not our real face. Our real face is when we just woke up or after we back home from the party then we wash our face... I am not addicted to make up... I have complete make up and I only use it when I go to the party and I am not into Haloween clown style... Everyday I only use face powder and lipgloss... I don't like to use any tricky idea to be someone else...oh yeah, and no photoshop trick !!!

ladyjewel: Base- it smooths the canvas and covers the lines of life, it hides the red blotches from crying to much, it covers the dark circles under her eyes from worry or sleepless nights.

Lipstick- adds color to the canvas and brings life to sometimes pale lips, it adds confidance and draws the eyes away from the signs of problems, red lipstick gives courage to her and makes her brave, soft pink makes her feel calm.

Eye liner and mascara- add drama when she feels unsure and also ensures she doesn't cry when she feels sad, as it runs down your cheeks and distroys the mask she sometimes needs.

With out her make up she would be on display and the world wound see the small imperfections she trys so hard to hide, the world is not ready for that, so she hides behind her war paint and shows the world the 'in control, strong and secure ' woman.

A man who sees past her war paint, who sees her the same way without all that, would be
able to hold her heart in his hands.

why? are you hiding something?wink

magiclove65: why? are you hiding something?

don't we all?, yes I am:-), I hide the lines and dark shadows and I used to hide behind many things, these days I am opening up and becoming a woman who feels beautiful and soft, who is allowed to be who I am and not be scared to show the world, its true if you don't love who you are how can you expect another to love you?, they deserve a whole person to love.

so yup guess i am hiding, or was:-)kiss

I've seen plenty of women who wear more makeup then I do.

Wouldn't most foods be tasteless without some seasoning added to them?laugh
