GalwayGuy35: I worked in a Heiritage Centre when I was 18 so got to do my own family tree, traced it back to 1800 but hit a dead end then unfortunately.
18 years old was awhile ago GG. It's so much easier now to search for people. There's a certain website, which I can't mention but if you google "family tree" it will come up. You might enjoy what you find. Give it a try. It's free. You don't need to buy a subscription.

Working on a family tree takes many hours of research to dig far into the past. She found documents for some of the family who came into Ellis Island.
They are excited to meet all the Irish folk and are leaving today for a vacation in Ireland.

my father is a tresurer for the genialogical society. i found out that i have many ties to many famous people. my direct line of grandfathers is the founder of rhode island. and further back.... i am direct decendant of the winsor family in england. family history is very educational, and sometimes fun.
one of these days i'm gonna have to send off for my knighthood
We had a family name traced back to somewhere in the 1400's before the records became spotty after that.
Hatred of tyranny and oppression must be genetic, from ancient Ireland to the International Brigade, the troubles up North and everything in-between more than one of us got up to divilment :)
