I just want to meet someone I can marry. But I don't ever meet anyone I could marry. I want to put Steven Hawking's brain into the body of this gnarly 26 year old guy named David who is in a band. Haha! Shhhh. Don't tell David. He might object! Besides, if I made a Frankenstein Monster who was awesome, he'd just marry someone else anyway. I'll probably just end up marrying a weenie with a mullet from the renaissance faire. I'll make crafts and he'll collect art with wolves and we'll have a trailer on a wooded lot with 50 cats and shoot bee bees at trespassers.

When I decided to join CS, yes the reason is loneliness, boredom and missing social life in my present situation. If I hadn't been where I am now (literally) I wouldn't have joined.

to answer this question...yes.....I spent most of my life looking after people...making their lives happy.....now at my age...looking for that person.....is just a pipe dream....so I come on here...for the banter/laugh......is that so wrong....??????

I think people join this site with the intention of filling a longing need to find a partner. Some then degenerate into a malaise of despare and hide this under the ospicious disguise of not being interested anymore, or other excuse.
But really the only reason one would join a "dating site" is the hope of finding a connection that is missing in their lives. So yeah, I think everybody (who are genuine and real people) join this site because of some form of lonliness. Whether this form is romantic or not doesn't matter.
If a person was truely satisfied and not lonely in some way, they would not need to be here.

Have to agree here. I have a busy life, many friends and much to do...this however, does not fill the need for that special someone in my life. So yes, I am lonely. Chatting on the CS forums gives me a sense of camaraderie (I'm not the only one in this boat) and affords me an opportunity to chat and meet some wonderful people I would not otherwise meet.
