So you are introduced by a mutual friend to an incredibly attractive and appealing aquaintance, they are just about to leave and you have 10 seconds to make a good impression - (less than 12 words) what do you say?
12 seconds to "make an impression?" I don't try to "make impressions" upon people; if who I am isn't "impressive" enough, they're free to move on. I would politely introduce myself to him, just like I would to anyone else.
Would just touch the bridge of my nose with my tounge...
DISCLAMER: although I CAN touch the tip of my nose with my tongue I am not stupid enough to think this would make a GOOD impression upon a discerning lady...
No, that wouldn't be very impressive at all. When you get to the point you can groom your eyebrows, though, have your people get in touch with my people.
It's true most women have an alarming array of tactical (attraction) weapons which can disarm any man in seconds thus they are in need of few words, but ladies you can't argue with the tongue twister unless you have an aversion to chin growth...,
If it were me, I'd be thankful for the compliment, but it wouldn't really "impress" me--not much, anyway. Why? Because I hear stuff like that all the time from men. I'm sure she does, too. It may or may not impress her, though.
Considering he's only got 10-12 seconds, I guess what would "impress" me is if he says, "Hello, my name is _____. I'm sorry we don't have more time to get to know each other but I'd love to get a chance to speak with you again." something like that...
You could always go with alod gem - "Q: What three things are common between the sun and woman's underwear? A: Both are hot, both look better while going down and both disappear at night".
although the two words impress and impression are similar they are different.
Leaving an impression does not mean the intent to be good, bad, memorable. Its just what one perceives of you in their mind. A bad impression is not impressive LOL.
when you say "may not impress her" you are implying a positive connotation. Also that she was deeply or markedly affected or influenced. Leaving a nice compliment is leaving the impression that I took the time to mention my name with a compliment. Although having no intent to impress her. I thinking impressing some one is left better to those trying to over do it, or being arrogant.

May I walk you to your car?
If it were raining....I would walk her to her car...and carry my umbrella for her....so she wouldn't get rained on...and wish her a good nite...hope to meet you again sometime.
If I made a good impression...she'll ask her friend about me.
