Adding friends ( Archived) (20)

On several occasions here I get friend requests from folks, both male and female, with whom I have had no personal contact, not even email exchanges. Okay maybe they threw a line into a forum or a blog post, but who are they? Why they pick on me?

My first position is I am here to mostly meet women, not guys. LoL. Second, I want real people, not people who open an account here 15 minutes (or 2 days ago) and run search and send out 40 friend requests. We seem to have a few of those here. To me, that is a hallmark of a scammer, just like those (many) first emails asking me to yahoo or hotmail or gmail them.

Third, before I friend you, or accept your friend request, unless I have physically met you first, I want to see more than just one or two comments in a thread or a blog. I want to see some email exchanges between us, at least 10 or 20. Maybe more. I gotta be interested in your profile and find you cute. You have to feel the same way. Sure, we 20,000 miles apart, but if *I* think we are kindred then I accept.

Fourth, if you are sending me a friend request so you can convert me to your religion, Please DROP DEAD.

How do you react to friend requests from folks you had no prior contact or interest in?

I delete them.

ken, i switched mine off!cause i kept getting over and over same "types" and i also found out that if your area is blocked, you can send a friend request and then you will be able to msg the person
