Alfa, beta etc you're right Chris! Our letters are pronounced slightly differently than in English though. We have Greeks to thank for many things, science and olympics.
so which of those is your first language, and which is learnt.. and which one was the hardest to learn..???
Latvian first, Russian second. I would say German is the hardest to learn and I gave it up after six month study. I can chat in it and read a bit, but that's it. But when you think better, each language has its difficulties. I still can't master the proper use of articles in English, for example. And there are so many nuances in English that one probably can never claim 'learned' it. My English will never be as good as of many native users here unfortunately.
