well I left school well expelled at 15 I worked for 7 years I decided to do my leaving cert on a vtos course. I begged the co ordinator for me to do it because I was working in construction and I had to be unemployed to do the course .l found the teachers great help one on one attention because I never studied in school when in school I had poor concentration , , adult education worked for me and it was the greatest achievement in my life going back and receiving honour s in all my 6 subjects. Fetac is the equivalent to the leaving cert I think don't be afraid to ask for more attention if you are finding it difficult im sure they'll help you r every need

I found with mature returning students, confidence plays a part. Putting that pen to paper is sometimes the stumbling block. You can do it just focus on the assignment requirement, read around the topic area, this will make you feel more confident when writing. Been there done it, so know what you are going through, you will get there. I have surprised myself beyond my wildest dreams hug
Study groups with others on the course can be very supportive and helpful.
