They say most people dream, which i dont doubt, but like many people,i am one of those that cannot remember what i dreamt. I am not religious, and i have no fear of death, whether by old age, illness or foul means. At the beginning of this year,i had a strange "occurance". I retired to my bed at about 2am. At 6.30am i awoke very abruptly.I had in fact dreamt of my death.Even now,i can remember every detail, all in slow motion. I had no fear, and just took it in my stride, and accepted that it was a stupid dream,or i was going to die shortly. I went back to sleep, thinking about seducing the women on here,so,back to normal. At 6.55am,my mobile rang, which is unusual, and it was someone i know from the UK,who i had not seen for years. He imformed me that a certain person had died during the night, and wanted me to know. I asked him what time the death was logged at.He said 5.30am. The UK is one hour behind Spain,so in my time time that person had died at 6.30am,the time i woke up abruptly. In my dream,i saw death,my death,or was it that person reaching out to me? I dont know, its so much of a coincedence. That person wasnt expected to die,my dream of my death, the times relate. Have you experienced anything like this?
I come from a family that experience this all the time and it is so unnerving - only it doesn't happen when I am asleep so much.
My mother when her brother died of a heart attack - didn't know who, just started calling all of the family members, one at a time until she got her brother's wife who was at the hospital and had just died.
When my mother passed, I knew that morning when I was 4,000 miles away I heard and felt it and knew it - and so I called at 3 in the morning home - and my sister was at the hospital with her as she died.....
Being able to feel it, and have no control or understanding about it... is unnerving.

It was certainly strange. When i thought it was my death, and it still could be,it didnt fase me at all.I accept thats part of the journey. It was only when i learnt of there death,at the same time i had dreamt of my death,it became wierd.

wasn't it Jung that spoke about a collective unconsciousness that we humans have?

Dreams of death are usually related to the end of something and new beginnings.
Maybe this friend is the end of a connection with the UK that you may have had.
I am a believer in people sometimes having premonitions, however weird it may sound. Had a few dreams myself that have come true.

Its nice to know that its not only me Until it happened to me, i paid no attention to such things. The dream was so explicit, and like i said,i dont remember dreams.Strange.

Ccincy: Just got through reading part of an answer where someone asked the Question:"What does it mean to dream about dying?"The answerer: Dreams of your own death usually means that big changes are ahead of you.You are moving onto new beginnings and leaving the past behind.Maybe the person who passed away from the UK was part of the new beginnings and leaving the past behind.

Hi CC. I see your logic, and i cant say your wrong, because i dont know.It does sound feasable. I had only seen that person for 1 day in 10yrs...

Most people will not recall dreams that they may have had,yet others remember them vividly.
I'm off to work soon ,but taking my knitting so I can do some in my break.

It makes you jump! I ruled out alcohol, as i have never drunk alcohol in my life. I dont do drugs.I wasnt tired,i didnt have anything on my mind. So, i will have to go with "i might be going crackers".

The dream that scared me awake was about my father and the next morning an old pic of him and I arrived in the mail the very next day.
i believe that we get messages while we sleep. I had one dream that I will never ever forget, and it was too real and the message too strong to be anything but that. Perhaps our minds are more open to these things while we sleep...who knows.
