unlaoised: no such thing as coincidence.
I see your point, but i tend to think there is. I know many people think that everything that happens, happens for a reason, but although i understand where there coming from, its to broad a statement for me.
So,did i see there death, or was it in fact mine? Why did i die in my dream, and not that person? I dont know dunno

JeanKimberley: wasn't it Jung that spoke about a collective unconsciousness that we humans have?

unlaoised: i believe that we get messages while we sleep. I had one dream that I will never ever forget, and it was too real and the message too strong to be anything but that. Perhaps our minds are more open to these things while we sleep...who knows.
You could be right. There is a lot we as humans dont know,or understand.wine

I wasn't asleep for one of mine.

Running with the theme of collective consciousness, the first time my daughter stayed with her dad overnight, I woke up every single time she did, even though she was some 20 miles away.

I wasnt doubting you at all hug
I wasnt close, and had seen them once in ten years, and never spoke on the phone,or e-mail ect.
Strangely, me being the sort of person i am,i do not fear that is was,and could have been my death i saw.I am quite fascinated by what happened. To experience it was strange, but at the same time i felt "priveliged" to have had that experience.wine

no no...you were quite right, reb. it was a very broad statement. There is so much that we humans don't understand. What jac described for example...was that her child connecting with her? For me, I have no doubt that it was.
Was there a message for me in my dream? Maybe it soothes me to believe it was. Perhaps somebody needed to say goodbye to you.
Fascinating indeed and yes, a privilege if that's the case.

In Jacs case, i would come to the same conclusion as you.Even so,isnt it strange that two people,20 miles apart can wake up at the same time. Well, its amazing really.
Your dream, yes, maybe your right,it was soothing,a possible explanation, but we still dont know.
Maybe i should leave my brain to science,so they delve!....maybe not uh oh

To dream that you die in your dream symbolizes inner changes, transformation, self-discovery and positive development that is happening within you or your life. You are undergoing a transitional phase and are becoming more enlightened or spiritual. Although such a dream may bring about feelings of fear and anxiety, it is no cause for alarm as it is often considered a positive symbol. Dreams of experiencing your own death usually means that big changes are ahead for you. You are moving on to new beginnings and leaving the past behind. These changes does not necessarily imply a negative turn of events. Metaphorically, dying can be seen as an end or a termination to your old ways and habits. So, dying does not always mean a physical death, but an ending of something. If you dream that someone is telling you that you are going die, then it implies that you are being pressured to make an important change or choice. You are about to embark on some new life adventure.

On a negative note, to dream that you die may represent involvement in deeply painful relationships or unhealthy, destructive behaviors. You may feeling depressed or feel strangled by a situation or person in your waking life. Perhaps your mind is preoccupied with someone who is terminally ill or dying. Alternatively, you may be trying to get out of some obligation, responsibility or other situation. You are desperately trying to escape from the demands of your daily life.

Well, i cant "argue" the first paragraph, although i am not at this moment aware of any changes that i am making,or wish to make, but of course, things happen daily, and of course that can change.A new adventure is always welcome laugh
As far as the second paragraph is concerned, no painful relationships,no depression,i dont feel strangled or trapped, and i dont know someone who is terminally ill. I have no obligations, or responsibilities, exept little old me.My daily life isnt demanding.
Interesting, even so.I shall have to wait and see! laugh cheers

It was just before my daughter's second birthday and she didn't speak until she was 2 1/4. It would unnerve people at times all the way through her childhood that we didn't always need words to communicate, but I think most of that was very subtle body language.

I can't explain the waking thing, other than she just had to open her eyes and no matter how exhausted I was *ping!* my would open as well. I don't think that's entirely uncommon for mothers and babies, though. Perhaps mine just went on a little longer because she didn't speak.

The two 'death prediction experiences' I had weren't a comfort. At the time, I would have almost gladly put a pillow over both their faces to help the whole process along.
