Had a dream one night that my sister appeared in my room and asked for my help. She was travelling in Egypt at the time. A year later she return and when I mentioned my dream to her she checked her diary. On the same night of my dream she had been attacked and narrowly escaped being physically assaulted. There is a lot we cannot explain....

I was in bed one night, and I had my children with me for the weekend, it was December 17 about 11:30 pm, I woke up abruptly and felt all the energy totally drain out from my body, a feeling I never want to ever feel again, after it passed I went to the kitchen and had a glass of water, then back to bed.
One hour later the telephone rang and it was my ex wife's neighbour, she told me that our son had been hit by a milk tanker and was killed, the time, approximately 11:30pm that night, I believe I felt him die.

Sorry for your loss. I know someone that experienced the exact same thing only it didn't happen in her sleep. She had a feeling come over her and she knew the person died. It was as if she felt their spirit leaving their body.

Maybe this friend is the end of a connection with the UK that you may have had.
I am a believer in people sometimes having premonitions,however weird it may sound. Had a few dreams myself that have come true.

I would wager to say he had a premonition and connection to his friend who passed. His apparent feeling of his own death is his feelings that a part of him had died along with his friend.
A realization of his loss and inevitable end.
