jac379: It was just before my daughter's second birthday and she didn't speak until she was 2 1/4. It would unnerve people at times all the way through her childhood that we didn't always need words to communicate, but I think most of that was very subtle body language.

I can't explain the waking thing, other than she just had to open her eyes and no matter how exhausted I was *ping!* my would open as well. I don't think that's entirely uncommon for mothers and babies, though. Perhaps mine just went on a little longer because she didn't speak.

The two 'death prediction experiences' I had weren't a comfort. At the time, I would have almost gladly put a pillow over both their faces to help the whole process along.
Even if the waking thing isnt uncommon,it is still amazing that it happens.wine

rebel2: They say most people dream, which i dont doubt, but like many people,i am one of those that cannot remember what i dreamt.
I am not religious, and i have no fear of death, whether by old age, illness or foul means.
At the beginning of this year,i had a strange "occurance".
I retired to my bed at about 2am.
At 6.30am i awoke very abruptly.I had in fact dreamt of my death.Even now,i can remember every detail, all in slow motion.
I had no fear, and just took it in my stride, and accepted that it was a stupid dream,or i was going to die shortly.
I went back to sleep, thinking about seducing the women on here,so,back to normal.
At 6.55am,my mobile rang, which is unusual, and it was someone i know from the UK,who i had not seen for years. He imformed me that a certain person had died during the night, and wanted me to know.
I asked him what time the death was logged at.He said 5.30am.
The UK is one hour behind Spain,so in my time time that person had died at 6.30am,the time i woke up abruptly.
In my dream,i saw death,my death,or was it that person reaching out to me?
I dont know, its so much of a coincedence. That person wasnt expected to die,my dream of my death, the times relate.
Have you experienced anything like this?

Interesting dream T.

Yes definitely,

I was in bed one night, and I had my children with me for the weekend, it was December 17 about 11:30 pm, I woke up abruptly and felt all the energy totally drain out from my body, a feeling I never want to ever feel again, after it passed I went to the kitchen and had a glass of water, then back to bed.

One hour later the telephone rang and it was my ex wife's neighbour, she told me that our son had been hit by a milk tanker and was killed, the time, approximately 11:30pm that night, I believe I felt him die. sad

Reb Hi ah... wave

I will never forget how I sat up in bed and listened to a woman's crying... I was woken from sleep.. and as I became more and more awake.. I could hear weeping, so I after a short while.. I thought.. am I dreaming still... no.. I sat up and the weeping was real...

I nudged my hubby and woke him... and precisely then.. the weeping stopped..

( my father in law, mother in law, had died within a year of each other... 2 weeks later... my hubby died..)

That for me speaks volumes...

Hiya TReb wave I believe there is a spiritual connection to incidences like this during sleep. By spiritual, I mean that messages from those who have passed can be relayed to us. Some people receive these messages while sleeping and others may get them at any given time. This is only my theory based on my own personal experiences on the matter. Although you didn't know this person, perhaps when they passed, their last flurry of thoughts may have included you. I do believe there is more beyond the here and now.hug

Dreams of death can be terrifying. From being chased by strangers intent on causing harm to dying of illnesses, the imagery can stick around for weeks. Even worse, many people worry that dreams of death may foreshadow their own death. However, interpreting dreams is rarely this simple. While dream dictionaries abound with "definitions" for what symbols in dreams mean, the same symbols mean different things to different people.

The key to interpreting dreams- especially your own dreams- is to keep in mind that your dreams are your own creation. They come from your unconscious mind, which means they aren't magic and they can't tell you anything you don't already know on some level. When working to understand your dreams of dying, it's especially important to take them in context and look at what else is going on in your life.

Ultimately, our dreams tell us what is on our mind and nothing more. But if you're interested in understanding what dreaming of death might tell you about what's going on inside your own head, here's what you can learn:

Dreams of Death: Revealing Anxiety

If you've had a headache for weeks or have been delaying getting a colonoscopy, your dreams aren't telling you that that headache is cancer. Instead, dreams reveal to us what we're worrying about, so a dream of death from illness may indicate that you're concerned about your health. Take it as a sign to take good care of yourself and check in with your doctor. Go ahead and make that doctor's appointment and give yourself some peace of mind.

Dreams of Death: The Collective Unconscious

Carl Jung, one of the great psychologists, was fascinated by the collective unconscious. The collective unconscious is the part of the mind that collects and makes sense of the experiences and fears that are a part of the human condition, including death. All humans struggle with the concept of their own death, and dreaming about death can be one way of facing up to this fear without having to think about it in waking life. If you're dreaming frequently about death, it may mean you're struggling with the idea of your own mortality.

Dreams of Death: A Form of Practice

While studies of dreams have been extremely limited and most have not been well-controlled, there is some evidence that when we experience a situation in a dream, we are more equipped to deal with it in real life. Dreams of being chased, robbed, etc. may be ways for our mind to prepare us for frightening experiences. Accept your dream of dying as a form of practice for if you ever face a life or death situation in real life. That dream may be the very thing that prepares you to survive.

Dreams of Death: Symbolic Meaning

Freudian psychology is fascinated by the symbolism of dreams, and while much of psychology has moved away from this sort of interpretation, your unconscious mind may not have! Dreams of death can symbolize much, and the best way to interpret the symbolism if you dream of dying is to contemplate what death means to you. As a general rule, however, dreaming of dying can often indicate that you feel a part of yourself has died. These dreams often occur during major life turning points and during times of stress. The part of yourself that has died can represent a positive or negative change.

Dreams of dying are never a sure sign that you are going to die, so if you have these dreams do not panic. Instead, place the dream in the context of your life and learn the lesson the dream is trying to teach you!

yes, happen to me, when my father died. I also woke up in the middle of the night (about 4 am), and call home; my mother confirmed that my father had died.... a few minutes before. i had a very strong relationship with my father.

hello buddy.
I fully understand u.Cos many times i wanted to make thread about dreams and time.
Always happens to me that i dream something and it happens something related to my dreams.its obvious that dreams can prevent time.for example.
I dream somebody that i havent seen long time and never would think about him in my dayly life.Next day i meet him accidently or i get a phone call from him or i hear news about him.what does that mean?
Looks like dreams and near future have strong connections and dream can be ahead of time sometimes.I d like to hear some scientific logic in it.I dont believe its consiequnses.( i know,I spelled it wrong)

btw,In my culture if u see own death or someones death it means u ll live longer.cheers cheers
