@pheonix, just to clarify, I am not from the same City as yourself.

Now I am out of this thread. Respect for others is greatly lacking here.

You have told ne several times you grew up in Belfast, when I questioned where you said Lisburn (greater Belfast). I didn't say we are from, I said we grew up..Not the same ball park.

snowlynx: Any chance you could actually answer Sofar's question about what you've contibuted to Irish life?

My Genius...Now can you clear up your post about me not being Irish but waging war on my fellow country men (Don't add insult to you injury by saying you meant the o6c)..You meant (keeping your comment in context) Ireland.

Next Q..

What I meant is very clear, you support the killers of the security forces in your own country. Don't play stupid, or try to deny it.

snowlynx: 'O6c' is an incorrect term as Northern Ireland isn't occupied....and you call us fools...

Yes, I called you what you are fools. While the British army no longer patrol the streets in their uniforms, they do drive around in unmarked cars and patrol. They still carry out surveilence on every area (some more than others), there is still aprox 5000 BA stationed there..MI5 have an almost new shiny building just outside Belfast. The o6c is very much under occuption.

Now, can you again explain why you said I am not Irish but I am waging war on my fellow country men?

If what you said was clear, trust me i wouldn't have asked you to explain what you actually meant.

I understand why they (republicans) used violence. I can even explain it.I think it would go over your head. You have a selective version of Irish history( deffo between 1968-1998). I very rarely hear you mention about the security forces killing innocent people in the o6c.

The Miami showband killings, Bloody Sunday, BallyMurphy massacre..I could name loads of innocent people targeted by loyalist death squads who were controlled by the BA/RUC/Mi5.....

As far as you and others a concerned it was only republican violence and the British were caught in the middle and the RUC just wanted to walk the beat like coppers are meant to..

sofarsogood74: The point about schooling is you did NOT learn the things Irish schools teach. Such as Irish History and Irish to name two very important ones.

And the people you mentioned were born in an Irish hospital, paid for by Irish tax payers, they have an Irish birth cert, they worked in Ireland and pay/paid taxes here and are free to vote in election here. As well as being schooled here. All of which you were not or are not!

You are not Irish. As I said you're as Irish as any other person not born here, schooled here, without an Irish bithcert, or have never lived or contributed to our society!

You got it right first time around. I leant Irish history in school, as for the Irish lang. thingy, up until 3rd year we were taught Irish..Then the teacher who was teaching Irish lang at my school went AWOL..I can't be held fault for that. I was a pup....Many, many months ago you told me you know about Irish history and I asked you to open a thread and debate it. You haven't. I think I gave cut off point around the time of the flight of the Earls, we could go back further if you want or bring it foward to any century you want.

Do you honestly believe Charlie H and the monkeys in Leinster house are paying their due tax?? If you do, are more naive than I thought. Indirectly I have helped the Irish economy by the simple fact I employed Irish people while working in Paris and some either sent money home or used the money they earned to go back and have hoidays.

Like snowny you seem to a bit of a dissident. Now again as much as it pisss you off and no matter how hard it for you accept..Fact is I'm Irish.

Now stop clutching at straws.

What I said was perfectly clear, you just want to muddy the waters in your usual way so as to hide the reality of your views. I guess you're hoping to fool uninformed people who may happen to read the thread.

For a man who has a problem with British troops or police patrolling he has no problem living on their mainland.laugh And getting all he can that comes with being a "citizen"...

This has turn into a discussion of who's more Irish. I got 66% Irish in a CS quiz. Does that make Irish?

Phoenix: Go and ask the BELB what was taught or wasn't within catholic maintained schools during the 70's & 80's,...Check your facts out first. Again, i had no control over what part of the island i was born in anymore than you or anyone else here. Same goes for the school I went to. I thought we covered those points earlier.
It was anything but fictional. I use to manage some of the best bars in Paris. I never said the buisness was mine. I said I employed Irish people (and others). Don't twist things sofar to suit your agenda. You fail everytime.
To take the lie detector, I'd imagine sitting in front a device and then get hooked up to it and let a qualified person to ask me the question 'Phoenix, do you have an Irish or British passport'..Its that easy (cost a few quid) but it's not hard to arrange. As for the 'truth drug' again, simply contact the company who makes them and under medical supervision, let them ask me the same question. I'm up for it. Are you prepared to part with 1euro. To me principal is more important. Is the reason to deny my Irishness simply due to the fact you don't like me or does the same rule apply to everyone born and raised in the o6c...

What about my question about people living in the 26c's, claiming to live in the o6c to avail of free helth care...? Anyone conected to you telling a few porkies to get free health care?

you want some one to ring a school & ask what was thought in the 70s & ask if a teacher was there and ask was phoenix there
just to prove a point to some one on the internet?
you have self confidence issues
