goodguywithheart: What is the deal with some of these women on here? Is it a power trip to just go forever and never wanting to talk on phone. It is sometimes funny[and sad]; You can IM a woman for a while and not say one thing out of line. Then when you mention phone call they drop you like a hot potato.
I expect that's where you're going wrong. You need to misbehave with women. I'm not saying come on all insulting or aggressive; the aim is ambiguity and a hint of darkness; women love men when they can't quite figure out if he's a good guy or a bad guy; don't be so nice and obvious. You will be palm-pleasuring yourself in the friendzone for the rest of your life. Or until a woman pronouncedly less attractive than you comes along before then.

I can understand someone being nervous about chatting on the phone (the giving out of personal information wherein anyone can basically track one down) and I have indeed heard a story where someone showed up unexpected on their doorstep. So there are creepos out there for sure, BUT if one chooses to try online dating unless the person is close by to actually meet in person, one would think that the next step would be to chat on the phone.
If someone is suddenly losing interest given that enough time has passed to consider it appropriate to chat on the phone (ie. they'd be comfortable), then I'd be taking that as a sign that they aren't truly interested in pursuing anything.
When you hear the low numbers of people that say that they've actually ever met ANYONE online it stands to reason that they never intend to meet otherwise it should be fairly simple to connect. Life is passing people by sometimes without them ever realizing it. People need to be more proactive to create love and connection.

OB, there is always just the slightest grain of truth in what you say...just enough to make the rest sound almost plausible. You are right to the extent that many, male or female, are attracted to a hint of naughtiness in each other. Something that suggests you'll not be expected to be a saint but free to be who you really are with them. But as for the rest
It's basically a blend of not making it easy for a woman and flirting. To say and do those things that skirt the boundaries of social acceptability which have parted the legs of woman since time immemorial.
