Instincts ( Archived) (50)

I have always been interested in the following thing happening here: someone saying that she is open-minded, here to talk and learn from people blah blah... but...it is always about the looks when they decide to answer, otherwise... forget it.
I mean, there is nothting wrong with that. In the end, attraction between two human beings is defined mostly by the looks.
The only interesting (and bizarre) thing is that some people think that is wrong therefore they try hard to disguise their instincts.
And instincts are the most marvelous thing we have.

I don't think that looks are the definitive reason for attraction between to people. There are a lot of other things that go into attraction.

sadly sometimes we humans don't say what we mean or mean what we say.....

I think you're right Lady, the need to conform to what is popular generally overrides our gut feeling/instincts. Pack mentality rules.conversing

I am sorry to disagree with you, as i think we have a brain, which is conditioned by our education, entourage and personal environment,it has to be disciplined sometimes and take over the instincts, (no basic instinct lol) which are not always the best, from all the horrors we can see in the news... wave handshake

Well, yes we disagree.... to me the instincts are the scape goat when it comes to justify such horrors. If you take a closer look on most of hideous events in mankind, they have nothing to do with our basic instincts but with the corruption of them by our pretention that the brain is something superior to them.

Yes, you are right but in fact I have an idea of looks beyond facial features or body (though in the stupid internet that is the only thing we mostly see)I suppose that many people do not even read the profiles and ignore another source to acquaint someone potentially attractive (well.. others discard us after reading them ...LOL!!) I suppose this is one example where the instincts are distorted by our civilization and its stupid trends, then the individual is only looking for certain physical features that are considered "attractive".

but I think we all have a different opinion when it comes to who attracts us, yes the super models everyone can agree is beautiful, but I might think Bob is gorgeous and Sally might think he's repulsive...so really beauty is in the eye of the beholder...dunno

Hello Lovemedofr, I agree with you and I think that we can form a somewhat opinion of a person that we have seen in their pic/pics online or their physical appearance in person, this attraction has also to be activated into all other areas of their life, ie how much we have in common, values, beliefs and morals, etc

for me....it is the overall person

the click, the connection, and the spark!!!

Absolutely..!! and it does not make us shallow... but to say that I am here to meet my twin soul (metaphysically defined by my profound spiritual being)is definitely shallow and pathetic..
