MADDOG69: Yes I know that too... ye basically consider yourselves a different race of people. The Freudian slip was most appropriate.

Fraya: What site are you using to watch?

Had to dash out there for a while

Pull the globe around to Ireland and double-click to zoom in. You can do that a few times until your close enough. When you click once on a spot you see a little green circle - in the box on the bottom left the coordinates for that spot and the wind speed are shown. Click on the red area and you will see the wind speed out there.

You can x that box to get rid of it and click on 'EARTH' at bottom left where you can click on the wind speed at other heights up to and above the jet stream. What you go to by default is the surface to 1000ft level but up higher it's really bad.

I live in a lovely little valley where we are protected from climate extremes and those nasty wind things. Hoping this gentle breeze here tonight doesn't blow away the last of the rose petals. moping

facetowardsfront: I can't speak for everyone in the south west but I'm good thanks for asking. I think I might be in Tipperary though, all I can see are signs for Lowryland

It's going to be windy alright but nothing like the intensity of last night. All the weak trees are probably sorted out now, so there should be no more power outages.

The Weather liars said the winds would reach 150mph, hence the excuse to exercise their first Code Red warning. I think I heard the top speed recorded was 140km/hr (87mph). They're not paid by the State are they?

Oh lordy!frustrated

It sounded pretty bad but no damage done here although the street lights are out around the housing estate. Only light outside my house is thrown by the houses around, otherwise it's pitch black.

Not making much difference to the rugby at the moment anyway although they were playing in a deluge there earlier.

People sleep badly this time of year due to the consumption of too much sugar. Also...it depends of the bit of rough wink
