fame and fortune at that young of age, how would you handle it?

I think its been too much, too quickly - and too young. The lad has got above and ahead of himself. To him, he's fireproof, clearly.....
Needs to be taken down a peg or two but begs the question..... what's up with his parents?
Its one thing having talent (if that's what he's got?) but, surely, at such a young age, parents would make sure he had the proper guidance, even if they weren't able to give it directly?
Showbiz/fame/fortune..... stands to reason he's gonna need some help?
If I was a parent, I wouldn't want to see my child going off the rails like that, regardless of how much adoration and money he/she could get.
Am I old-fashioned?
After all, it seems its become an all-increasingly 'do what I want' kinda world, yeah?
