I think I agree with cork on that one larry... his point is very valid. all these religious groups want to be free to believe what they want, yet they come pounding on my door trying to tell me what to believe. with no respect for my choice to believe freely..

zabeen: I think thr must nt b any religion issues. Pple no matter wat religion dey belong to,must think before da religions came thr were humans only.nw thr r religion but not many human beings. I'm Muslim by religion but I'm totally against religious stuff like jihad or going to temples.god is inside us.so we should learn to love ourselves first.

I personally think that the Muslim religion is a good one in theory. Most I have met have been good people who are proud of who they are... the problem is that there are a few really bad ones who happen to be in control and do horrible things in the name of faith. its those people who make that religion look bad.

imagine if the pope went on a psycho power trip and drug the crazies that are catholic behind him.

fishinandshootin: First off I encourage anyone to believe what they choose, be it in God, Allah, Buddha or nothing for that matter. I see all these pages on here "Must be God Fearing" "Praise God" "Must Love God"... God This, God that. So the questions are, Are you drawn to or pushed away by a person whom has "God or Religion" demands in their profile? Do you feel like interaction with these people would be a waste of time because you might not or do not believe what they believe?

major, major turn off for me.
thank you

fishinandshootin: "Spiritual but Not Religious" to me means that one has a belief that is not bound to any "religion" or has a belief but does not participate in regular church activities or services. It is back to perception on that one I suppose. Once again it's people getting different thoughts from the same statement.

I need to know that a person's morals, beliefs and ideals come from within, not from a book.

We all learn from a book one way or another. The Bible is a book about God and His kingdom. If someone wanted to know God, the Bible is the best book to read. If I wanted to enhance my knowledge or skill sets on a specific topic, I need to consult a book on this topic. Every human is unique, irreplaceable and of great worth. We were born with certain inherent qualities. We must learn to enhance or improve these qualities. The teachers & professors all learn from a book to start of with. I am still reading books to improve myself. There is a saying, "Leaders are readers".

I see how ones use this book as a guideline but this book is also used as an interpretation of the many things inside of it. it seems like each group takes a piece of it and blows it out of proportion or twists it to fit what they want.

could it be so simple that god or whomever just wants us to respect eachother, respect him/her and be good to one another? realistically if we followed those simple guidelines as humans.. how great would it be to live on earth together?

That is probably more realistic than some of the things that "scholars" dig out of most religious texts.

thank you

the BIBLE was written many many many years ago, in a culture that has nothing to do with mine, plus I don't believe in an eye for an eye a tooth for a tooth as the bible says

Believe me, I have read the bible.

Apart from being brought up in a religious family in a stifling, suffocatingly catholic country, I also chose to read the bible for myself when I was finished with religion.

I believe in knowing something, even if I don't agree with it, maybe especially when I don't agree with it.

Knowledge is all-powerful.

God fearing = Fear of god ? Do we fear the one we are suppose to love and follow ? Do the one who love unconditionally is menacingly fearful ? Fear comes from hatred . I dont want to believe in any religion which propagate fear as a tool to recognize god . SO most of the religions as I know is a big NO for me
