I just started watching this and had forgotten how different the 60's were. Yes, I was not an adult but I do remember the styles and of course I also know what was going on now when I did not know then. It was a very different world then today. Here is a trailer from this series if you are curious. A lot of cigarettes, and alcohol. And of course the way women interacted and were exploited is also made pretty plain. Though it seems that, and I think it is true in that many women were raised in that this was normal. Not all, but many. Looking at it all now seems almost like it was not possible. What do you think? Do you think that in another 20 years or so we will look back at today and also wonder how we actually did what we are doing to each other on a personal and even a global level in this time here and now?
Well, thanks for the comments. I truly thought this one was going to die fast. LOL.
Ocee, no doubt that what you said is very possible and potentially some things that we might not even imagine as well. The bit about money is something I do hope is included as I do believe that one day we can rise up and beyond that mind set. I sure hope so. People possibly coming together in a way to further ourselves as a world instead of all the divisions drawn out by the competition of having more than the next.
Kendall, I am not sure why they said that to you but I suppose that it could indeed raise your pulse if it was taken personally. I suppose for me it holds some interest because even though I was very young I still remember things and it kind of paints a picture for me and even though it is not a documentary it still gives me an idea on where we have been. (it does not hold my attention like some of my favorites but still watching it off and on).
Well, thanks to you Dragos I have taken it upon myself to hire the entire 5 seasons dvds of this show
Have watched 4 episodes so far and what I have taken away from it so far is...
In the show, a woman is regarded mostly as someone whose place is either taking care of household duties and children, a minion in the workplace or a plaything
I wanna know why us women didn't get equal opportunities to regard men in the same manner before bloody equality raised its ugly head
