I don't think he stood on anyone's toe's (apart from the RM's). Why wasn't it investigated before...Short answer is 1972 saw almost 500 killed and thousands injured. Throw into the ix the PIRA never admitted to killing her until the late '90's.

Now will the PSNI investigate, arrest & charge their former friends & colleagues in the RUC? Will the British Gov. release the Stalker & Stevens reports in full and charge Mi5 with murder?

It is politically motivated but it's not a witch hunt that PSF make out..Once Voices appeared, it was only a matter of time.

The PSNI can apply through the courts to extend his period of detention for up to 28 days. If not he'll be released at rough 8.30pm tonight.

GA for taoiseach - methinks he'll get a few sympathy votes - no doubt it's politics 101 - discredit the real potential threat to the status quo - but who why what when ?
Pity he won't fess up to ira links (the only reason he was at madiba's funeral)
Anyway good luck to him & sf - let them rule...can they make it any worse?ireland

MaryLou didnt do him any favours [or the party] by showing her teeth and a complete lack of empathy or even a shred of decent sympathy for the family who lost their mother at such a young age ! We may be fed up of the Bullies and Brown paperbag merchants who rule this Island but not that fed up............ hopefully !!ireland

Yeah they could have handled it so much better. They had an opportunity for a bit of faux cap-in-hand action to an electorate that loves that sort of crap. I think they missed that opportunity this time around.

It stinks because the leadership of the PRM handled the whole affair wrong from day. They should have simply shot Jean McConville and left her in an alley way instead of disappearing her.

Then in 1999 when they eventually admitted to her murder they didn't tell the commission for the disappeared where to find her body. Because her remains were uncovered by a civilian her case fall's outside of the remit laid down by the Commission.

Then when Voices from the Grave was published Brendan Hughes named Ivor Bell & Gerry as having something to do with Jean McConville. The PSNI got hold of 11 transcripts and two DVD's where Dolours Price made a confession on the A-Z of Jean McConville killing.

The DVD's were not connected in any shape or form to the Belfast project but were made around the same time as she (Doloures Price) gave an interview to Allison Morris of the Irish News that was carried in the Belfast Telegraph/Sunday Life..

And then PSNI went after the tapes etc under the UK/USA MLAT treaty with a vigour..

Anyone who believes this is a witch hunt against Gerry Adams or PSF is very far of the mark. It is politically motivated but not like PSF are claiming/making out...

NO. They shouldn't have shot her. She was a woman. She helped a soldier that was injured... her own Husband was a retired soldier.... she probably saw her own husband in that soldier that was injured. thumbs down thumbs down
