Shalom again: Having just read Wikipedia's explanation on Irish Travelers and having some experience in being a sort of Traveler myself; I would like to add to my previous reply. I stand by my first reply as truth. But in addition I would like to tell my story. I came to Williston N.D in the USA from Grand Rapids, Michigan about 3 and a half years ago. Michigan was in a depression / recession and North Dakota was experiencing and still is experiencing a boom to their economy through oil. When I first got here I lived in a tent out in the bad lands. Later I was able to purchase an R.V. Its a 28 footer that has about 20 foot of living space in it. Subtract for hitch and bumper and closed off bathroom due to rotting floors and walls. Its a 1978 model. I feel very blessed to have it. As before I had to endure winters living in my truck and summers living under flimsy fabric. I was homeless in Michigan for years prior to my moving to North Dakota. In michigan if you park on the street the police harass you. If you park in a business parking lot the owners call the police and the police harass you. If you park at a public park after evening; the police harass you. If you park on private property; the owner will call the police and the police harass you. Although I wanted to work and earn money and buy land; all of that was kept out of reach to me by greedy, selfish, haters (Michigan is full of them). So I was glad to leave Michigan. Found the same thing here though when I got here. The locals were hating on the people who came here to work and try and assimilate into a new community. They made R.V's illegal in their city. They made it uncomfortable for homeless people to go to their church's, or to use their public restrooms. They have shut down the man camps that were put up by corporate sponsors saying that the influx of transient workers was too much for their infrastructure. So people want to buy land and build houses. But the locals are charging near 10 times the value of their land and setting a minimum land purchase and thus have put it out of reach of ordinary poor hard working folk; keeping us poor and transient. And to add to the problem they charge some of the highest rent in the country where renting a bedroom normally goes for a 1000. u.s. per month and a 1 bedroom goes for 1500. u.s. My uncle has a 2 bedroom he rents for 5000 per month u.s. So the greed of these locals keep us homeless. And yet they gripe about people living in their R.V's. A lot of that is spurned on by local politicians creating monsters to which they can be the hero and then these shady characters get elected and use their power to enrich themselves and their position to harass innocent hard working people who live in their trucks and r.v.'s. and tents and sometimes just a blanket. So I see first hand how those people in houses exasperate a situation and then harass those they have had a hand in creating. Its like that the world over. Greedy land owners hating on not them. So long as they embrace their ignorance it will never change. I've been looking for a wife who could live with me in my situation. No takers so far. Now I am wondering if women in your communities might be interested in an outsider traveler?

I may not pay land tax's here in America because I have been priced right out of the market; like most others in my position. But I do pay sales tax on every non food purchase as well as employment tax on every dime I earn. And I buy the mandatory license plates and insurance that is imposed on me as a sort of road use tax. And I contribute to society as a veteran soldier and as a carpenter / builder. I also give to charities and help others less fortunate than I when I can. I am sure it is like this for most people you consider sponges and freeloaders. And much of the modern day comforts and inventions were not invented in Ireland. But the rest of the world shared their technologies with Ireland. So you shouldn't begrudge others who didn't have a large enough contribution per your reckoning. Make Love, Not War Brother. Shalom

your initial(means first question) is Do every human in the world hate Irish travelers? people cant hate what they dont know,I highly doubt that there is Irish travelers in every country in the world,every country has their own rules. I dont think they are that wide spread? maybe, you should have posted in the Irish thread, and used the wording differently?

the travelers get treated more than fairley by the police,and you know that.you dont get singled out,why would you,are you calling the gardai prejudice???;)

well i know a couple of traveler girls who got married at 15.legal age of consent is17,yet the law says you can gett married at 15.looked pretty arranged to me i must say.but the men wont marry a girl at 22??really??why??never heard of that one.

Instead of Sterio Typing and giving people specific Titles , lets just generalise on races in general who ever they are .

Those who live there lives in the way they choose is there busiiness .
But if some choose to live a life that disrespects others in a community ,by either Thieving other peoples property , making a field into a Tip and Health Hazard ,and many other things , then who ever they are are in the wrong , and will be looked upon without respect .
