I'm planning a few days in South West Ireland on the bike around end of July - can you recommend me some great roads / sights / tourist attractions etc as well as Guest houses !
Venere.com is great for all guest houses and hotels with reviews. As for great roads mmmmmmm..Ireland is not famous for great roads and definitely in the west anyway Tourist attractions in the west include though not limited to the following..Ennis (town, sorta like a smaller Galway),the ring of Kerry, the cliffs of moher,Dingle bay and many more nice areas.
Thanks SirL Ring of Kerry and Dingle bay are certainly on the list, and I kind of know them a little having rallied cars round there in the past .. Thanks for the tip about venere.com - i'll check that out Cheers Chris

Chris :)
I live in the Southwest
I would recommend the Beara Peninsula, staying at Beach View B&B, Allihies.
Continue on through Kenmare to do the Iveragh Peninsula, staying in Caherdaniel.
If you have time, do the Dingle Peninsula, staying in Dingle town.
LOL , not cycling, motorbike - you wouldn't get me in lycra: leather, yes, but not lycra .... lol ... but I take your point, and Bears does look stunning on google :)

Not irish, but been here long enough. they are both right, the ring and Dingle are stunning. The Burren a bit up north, the Cliffs, Co. Clare in general. If you keep up north, I recomend Bunraty Castle on the way to Galway.

Here's another 'to do' for the list if you fancy going underground in the South West >>>>>>>
Actually from having read the other's posts here I suspect you've unwittingly opened the flood gates for the 'closet cases' i.e. those with profiles with a suggestion of being Irish , a bit AC/DC in terms of their nationality Another 'underground movement' Well here's another I'm not really a Claddagh , I'm a born Manc and proud

I'd recommend paying a visit to Killarney, in Co. Kerry. Plenty of cycling trails around the lakes there and fab scenery. Great restaurants and sociable entertainment also. Lots of nice hotels, B&B's, and hostels also.

Oops sorry, just saw you said motorbike now. Pity it's not the June bank holiday weekend. Motorbike festival on in Killarney then. But it's still a great place to drive around and visit. :)
I'm a bit surprised that there appears to be an underground movement of people pretending to be Irish on here - I'm half expecting to bump into a bunch of Mancs and brummies whilst there !
If you see a bloke wobbling round on a red bike, give me a wave !
