Two arrested in thefts of cemetery urns ( Archived) (5)

It seems these low life's were traveling all over the state and making off with bronze flower urns for their scrap value. It has become almost an epidemic the quest for scrap metal by anybody trying to make money in any way possible. Craigslist is flooded with ads looking for junk cars to recycle for cash.

Afternoon Ooby ,
I agree with your comment about them being Low Life ,
But the BIG PICTURE {to come} , certainly what ive witnessed here in the U.K. is that Poverty and Decline is on the increase , {Governments, Bankers and Corporations to blame for this Mass Decline .

Hope im not going off-topic .

But there are some Low Life that Steal , and others who just need to survive {though not saying i agree with how they do it }thumbs up

I was looking through new book about all the ghost towns throughout Death Valley and other areas and noticed remarks about many of the monuments left about the towns and/ or people were on metal and bronze places that have been stolen; chiseled out of their stone settings. Some of the old ruins now, cannot be identified. Other monuments looted are ones that had wagon wheels, metal crafts etc. from their gold-mining days...some of the old found ire and most of the mining buildings have been totally looted of all artifacts and even old furniture. Last time any surveys or inventories of these old towns were taken was in the early 70's. They are pretty sure that all items taken was for melting the tools and metal items were for money.
The Fed. departments in charge have said they do not have the manpower to look after all the ghost towns...
I'm surprised that they didn't blame the poor native American bands living on nearby reservations for the looting...
