Friskyone: Do attractive people have or get better advantages or opportunities in life, i.e., the workplace, etc. than average looking people?
Unfortunately, sad but true, I do believe so. I have witnessed it first hand myself.
Attractive people are sometimes treated as if that's all they are and are therefore objectified.
Sometimes, they are resented and disadvantaged by others. I suspect confidence, or lack of it, may play a part as well as a multitude of other factors: like Ccincy just exampled, wealth, or lack of it affects 'advantage'.
I think that in most workplaces we come across from time to time be it in the police, teachers in schools, nurses, doctors, army, lawyers, politicians....all types of jobs.....there is always a cross section of beautiful and average looking people......the person's education and general abilities are way more important to most employers nowadays.....no point in having a gorgeous blond in the office if she cannot add 2 and 2 together or string a sentence together either.....different scenario if it is in the world of tv or fashion...

I think attractive people do get a second look from a perspective employer.
An employer wants to know that a potential employee respects their body enough to take care of it, that they take the time to be well groomed which in turn will show that they take the time to go an extra step to show respect for the company they work for.
Someone who isn't god's gift to the world can still go the extra step to show up with a haircut and a little makeup to improve their appearance.
It's all about never getting a second chance to show the first impression.
