Get two cars.
Put your girlfriend/boyfriend in the boot of one car, and your dog in the other car boot.
Let them out after two hours and see which one is happy to see you.

The internationals don't have the same bite, they are stagnant, safe, secure, no fun at all. Whereas here, a war could break out any minute. Fun.
