Ahh neno and freeman I feel much better now,,yes it's just it will feel abit strange that's all but had to happen sometime ,I've met her before just briefly and she a nice person ,,it's nothing to do with that and I'm probalaly building it up in my head that it will feel strange,
Be okay after I just say helo and get on with the party.

I guess it's just that he finds it odd to see his new woman and his old woman having a chat, lol. My ex is a sound person, one of the best, he has nothing to hide, so I have nothing to expose him with, lol.
One night we all went for a meal, I think it was for my daughter's birthday - he was at the head of the table, me on left and her on right, lol. I found myself stealing one of his chips before realising I can't do that anymore lol.
Think of it this way - for her it will probably be even more uncomfortable. This is yours and his daughter's party. There will be lots of family, people who once associated you and him together.
Put yourself in her shoes for a moment. She might be really frightened of the night coming. Make her feel welcome, for I am certain if you were her, you'd be glad if the ex showed you an offer of friendship, right?
Unless she is the nasty type, those exist too
but if she is nice, then she is not your enemy and has done nothing wrong by falling in love with a free man.
