Questions about Mary & Joseph (40)
mnowsa: Well....not sure of the historicity and exact role of Joseph in the ordeal of Mary (peace be upon her), and how his (joseph) false ascription as her husband crept in the Bible remains a total mystery. Mary neither was married to anyone, nor she was betrothed to any man.
Twice in the Qur’an, Allah Most High praises Mary (Maryam) as “the one who guarded her private part” [Qur’an, 21:91 and 66:12]. The word for “guarded” in Arabic here is “aHSanat”, whose root word means “a fortress”, such that the active verb form of the root means “to make inaccessible” and gives a sense of actively guarding one’s chastity.
Of course, people with no faith or other faiths may disagree on this issue, one thing we can be sure of is that Allah Almighty did not mention this in His final message to mankind, the Qur’an. And,this means that it is not important for us to dwell on the relationship of a so-called joseph with Mary in light of the greater lessons that the story of this amazing woman of Allah, Maryam, has to offer us. ....a lot of stuff crept into the Bible that different religions interpret in a different way.....for instance catholics believe that Joseph was an elderly widower who was chosen to be the husband of Mary.....he already, supposedly, had 6 children...4 boys (mentioned in the Bible) and 2 girls (not mentioned).... seemingly Joseph died when Jesus was a child......catholics believe that Mary remained a virgin throughout her life and therefore Joseph was chosen as a guardian for her and they never consummated their marriage.....lots of stuff in the Bible which is unbelievable.....but that is where belief comes in i suppose.....Twice in the Qur’an, Allah Most High praises Mary (Maryam) as “the one who guarded her private part” [Qur’an, 21:91 and 66:12]. I believe that there was a man called Jesus who probalaly had the gift to heal and the son of god ,,can be interpreted as we are all the one ,,god is the higher power .
I think Mary fell pregnant and was going to be stoned and Joseph said he marry her,
I believe the man her son Jesus was crucified because in those days they were very superstitious and saw him as a threat and his holistic views differed from the Romans,

Presumably, Joseph and Mary did get married, as it probably would have been frowned upon in that era to live together without getting married.

if that`s the case why weren`t adam and eve married and if they were who did the ceremony and the reception must have been a disapointment
