so far we have been lucky nothing has happened. our power grids are unprotected against anything like that happening. it can also be a man made EMP.

I do remember reading several articles about the subject but so far nothing major has happened yet FEar has been re-inforced to the daily list dose of any normal human.

would the power surge recharge batteries that are dead i wonder, if it did be good idea to leave out all those rabbits that need recharging after intensive use by there owners
