I clean, cook,do laundry, vacume Take care of my children, Three in University, College, one in high school. More work then ever. Do the shopping, cooking, clean three bathoroms, four bedrooms, very large living room, extremely large kitchen. A half an acre, garden. I walk one to four miles daily or three times a week. I used to do yoga, I still do a little. I am understanding at my age I am supposed to start weights. Muscle mass diminishes at this age. I love to swim, used to have four horses, was on a Badminton team. Now as my children are growing. I want to get in better shape, I eat Exchial (sp? ) bread, cashew butter, almond butter, Broccoli, protein shakes, veggies, fruits, fish, chicken breast, some times. So any advice from a beautiful young lady to a woman who wonders what has happened to my body. OIE !!! To be young again. ! PEACE HH

LOL well, I would certainly say u r doing well walking so many miles, I usually run or jog but like u said, im younger. I think it would have been easier for u to start weights at a younger age, but hey... it's never too late. Just start soft, don't push urself too hard and yoga it's certainly great for relaxation, I certainly need more yoga... (starting to lose flexibility due to muscle)... But keep it up, u r a beautiful lady too Hahaha thanks for the compliment hug

Lol that was 30 years ago. BUT after I read your thread I did 10 push ups and it occured to me they can be good cardio if you rest and repeat and do it daily. Walking is good but my right knee acts up a lot.

Hiya Sandra, wave getting back into it again. I find it harder when work etc. gets into the way. I played soccer when I was younger (that included keeping fit with jogging etc.) Zumba about 3-4 years ago, but stopped completely for a year after moving, changing jobs and workload.

These days most weeks I'm going to the gym 4 times, 30 mins cardio and then weight training (for toning not to built up muscle) for either upper or lower body.

I'm watching what I eat for years, eating a lot of veg and very little carbs. Have a sweet tongue but try to keep that in check.

Feeling better as in less tired, sleeping better and avoiding back problems etc. The joys of getting older. laugh

Keep it up girl!! thumbs up And I think it would be easier if u had ur own tiny workout equipment at home, instead of going to the gym. My mom wants to buy her own treadmill to workout at home. If work becomes an issue for lack of time

I don't go to the gym but I do stay active. I live near the mountain so my daughter and I often walk the trails. I also play volleyball and swim a lot and sometimes I play softball. Long evening walks and stuff like that. I think I have a high metabolism. I never eat fast food except on occasion I'll have pizza. I drink a lot of water an unsweetened tea. Never eat fried food and rarely eat red meat. A lot of grilled foods and some veggies. peace
