raphael119: I wish youd tell that to those Republican farts that keep horning in on my conversations.

A lot of property owned by the church is now surplus to requirement, and is being sold to private individual developers to be made into family homes.
A lot of them have been restored and make excellent family homes.

I don't know about Ireland, but I am sure they could do the same, although English people may be reluctant to relocate to Ireland.

It is a good way of saving beautiful buildings for a good reason, and putting buildings in the public domain.

2Cute69: So here it is, on this bleak night, in Wexford. Its a funny old county I have enjoyed all my life, i am part of it, and yet are we? Since the church deformed the communities of Ireland do not mingle. We dont brush shoulders with randomers in Unity to a holy devine, within a 10 year period it is gone... all that remains is a giant tombstone you can pray inside of.

My point is I want YOU to brush shoulders with me. say something BOLD say something brash. Be Confident and love thy neighbour....

Anyone out there want to tell me what would be the best thing to happen to all those empty churches we do in fact still own, as the people... Internet cafe? A social club like the 70's? Hit me up, just a chat, its your man, this is stan, nah im not stan but go 4 it. ('');

Food banks?

Or what about converting them into the new universities they have for remedial tier higher education? There's one of these near to me that used to be an all-night petrol station, and I doubt this can be good for any student's confidence and self-worth.

good pints, think we need the renovation man

and yeah the public domain should be the main use
Most of these buildings shouldnt be sold privately, they should remain public, like a library/social club
