I would like to add to this thread that we really only know what we read here unless we know the person personally. Example and don't mean to sound harsh but it is what it is. There have been several on here whom have passed since I have been on here. And most I have went back to their home towns and found their obits. Yet there is one that had a nice little blog that actually still shall we say haunts this site. Just a different name. Do not know why this person decided to do that do not care why. And will not be outing them because they have really never caused no harm. They don't troll. Maybe they just decided that was how to get a fresh start. So the mods make the calls. As it should be. I myself find comfort knowing that unless my child decided to erase my profile. I will live on here. Call it one of my paw prints in life. My thoughts my poetry etc.... so if someone does not want their profile on here after they are gone then I suggest they write their screen name and password down some where and leave it with their other end of life instructions. Because I just don't see where the mods would be wanting to do all the foot work to find out if someone is deceased or not.
May the connecting singles whom have gone know that they are in my thoughts and heart
Sadly I never had no contact with Simmo. I did read his post and his blogs and found him to be a person I enjoyed reading. I tho must say I wonder how many have passed that we do not know. Just faded away and no one really knew what happened to them
Ok sorry to throw this bit of reality out there guys go back to having a good time. Just wanted to give you some food for thought
I think CS should make a rule that if you die you should let eveybody know you died and delete your profile. I mean Come on, don't leave us all hanging.
I think any kind of notification system, would get abused/manipulated.
I'd have a strong preference for the hiding of profiles not logged into in over a month, but I can't see any of the "smaller" sites doing that. Those inactive profiles make sites like this appear busier than they really are.
There is a cost associated with the data in those empty/disused profiles being distributed to users. If there wasn't a perceived benefit to the site, it wouldn't be happening.
