8 weeks ago I had a hard fall in which resulted in a left shoulder injury as it took the full impact,

I've to go for pyscotherepy ,,it's constantly paining ,restrictive and do not like taking painkillers on a daily basis and stopped taking them,

Of anyone has experienced same complaint can you advise me what you think works best,:

Would swimming be beneficial for it,?meant to be going to pool on Friday but if it pains me to stretch out my arm ,how will I be able to swim,

It's very frustrating,

If it is frozen shoulder the less you do the better exercise wise, gentle stretches if you can bare it and take the meds given as it won't go away that easy.

There are 3 phases to it, the freezing stage which can last anywhere from few weeks to a few months, then the frozen stage where you have limited movement but less pain and finally the thawing stage. It took me 2 months of pure hell to get through the freezing stage this time around and 3 months plus in the frozen stage, it's only now a year later I have full movement back in it.
I lived on painkillers and found a sling can help as I felt as if my shoulder was been pulled out of it's joint.

Good luck

I have had shoulder injuries, and they just take time to heal. Don't be tempted to stop moving the joint, but don't overdo the exercise either.

Cortisone injection into the joint. Instant relief.

Same thing happened to me a few yrs ago. I plodded on with pain relief for months and eventually gave in and went to GP. One injection and I was right as rain before leaving the surgery. No ill effects. Immediate full motion and the pain never returned.
