Obstinance_Works: They're educated morons. A British graduate working in a fast food outlet must be decadently oblivious to reality to choose a degree that worthless to the world. And spending even more money on this useless education makes them a super moron.

No, I don't like fast food, can't stand the stuff... If you only imagine how they do it, fry in the same oil for months, poor hygiene... I can make burgers and pizzas at home, healthy and delicious...
pedro27: do you like fast food? i have a burger, chips, and fried chicken on the way, a delivery
Of course, meals prepared at home will always be a better choice than fast food because you know what's in it. Some of the fast food places are offering healthier menu choices. For those who are pressed for time in meal preparation at home, fast food is an option. Occasionally, I will treat myself to a meal from a restaurant or fast food joint being mindful of what I choose and portion size. No up-sizing for me.

Completely agree about the useless degrees. They study for the diploma only and after that complain there is no work for them... Just the names of some of the subjects are insane...
PS Many of them are not educated despite the degrees...

Obstinance_Works: It's a soft science degree for ten-a-penny wannabes and pretentious, misguided know-it-alls.(Exceptions exists). Besides you'd only study psychology if there was something with you.
Hopefully one day we can track people down by their psychology degrees and gas them if they have not overcome whatever severely limiting personal attribute caused them to make such a choice.

This thread is about food and it went into useless degrees, ok!.
So which degrees would be useless according to you both?

KremaP: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2026858/Bosses-condemn-useless-degrees-leave-graduates-lacking-basic-skills.htmlAnd probably hundred more articles on the subject can be found online...
Sure, I could do a research on most every subject.
However, I was curious to know from 2 young guys which degrees you do see useless (and posted in an international forum) and I was also curious to know which degrees you do have (but I am not asking this).

What I highlighted may hold true providing that we observe the contents of ingredients. And even then we may not even know what certain types of ingredients actually are--hence the man-made chemicals added in. I have an old saying for those; If you can't pronounce it, you probably shouldn't be eating it!

Kaybee50: I rarely do take away, but when I do, fresh Mex, Qdoba. Fresh, veggies, low carb, no chemical additives, healthier than those aertery clogging fast food chains, and so friggin' delicious.
I like Mexican too and we do have quite a variety of fast food, good one, tasty, healthy ...and for the times when there is not time to go home for a better meal.
We do not have middle east food here but I like that.

KremaP Only curious how do you know they fry in the same oil for months?
I make my food at home too and often wondering at the same time because of all the hormones that is placed in food that cattle and pigs to be slaughtered at slaughtered at slaughtered houses is actually healthy.
Most Veggies and fruits we purchase in stores aren't really homegrown if one really thinks about it.

Experience and knowledge are not related to an age. I have a useless degree in English Philology and very useful diploma in Medical laser(Erbium Glass 1540nm, Q Switched Nd YAG -1064nm, 532nm, 1320nm and Krypton Ion laser system-520-530nm, 568nm ) treatments. Apology to the OP for hijacking the thread...

I never said anything about experience and age. My curiosity was for you two holding the same opinion and both being young.
As for a Career:
Useless? Because it does not pay the bills?
Useless? Because it is not gratifying on a personal bases?
Useless? Because gives nothing to humanity?
A career must be something that people enjoy from my opinion and must be useful to someone, at the same time.

qdoba by the numbers......
Salads
Qdoba offers salads with a fried tortilla shell or naked without the shell. The salad shell adds several hundred calories and several grams of fat to your salad. A Taco Salad with the shell, chicken, rice, black beans, sour cream, cheese, salsa and cilantro-lime dressing contains 1195 calories, 57 g of fat, 17 g of saturated fat and a whopping 2150 mg of sodium. The Naked Salad with beef, rice, black beans, sour cream, cheese, salsa and fat-free picante ranch dressing has 810 calories, 34 g of fat, 16 g of saturated fat and 2240 mg of sodium.
Nachos and Quesadillas....
Nachos and quesadillas are included on the menu for consumers who wish to eat something aside from the popular burrito and taco options. These meals are also high in calories and fat. The 3-Cheese Nachos with beef, rice, cheese, black beans, lettuce, sour cream, guacamole and salsa weighs in at 1630 calories, 87 g of fat, 33 g of saturated fat and 2810 mg of sodium. The Cheese Quesadilla contains 770 calories, 44 g of fat and 26 g of saturated fat. The Chicken Quesadilla has 960 calories, 54 g of fat and 29 g of saturated fat.
Burritos
The burritos at Qdoba are one of the most popular menu items and begin with an over-sized flour tortilla. Choose from rice, black beans, pinto beans, cheese, toppings and a variety of salsas to customize your meal. A Queso Burrito with rice, black beans, sour cream, cheese and salsa weighs in at 860 calories, 36 g of total fat and 18 g of saturated fat. A Poblano Pesto Burrito with rice, black beans, sour cream, cheese, salsa and grilled vegetables contains 1320 calories, 50 g of total fat and 22 g of saturated fat. The Grilled Veggies burrito with rice, black beans, sour cream, cheese and salsa has 820 calories and 31 g of fat, of which 12 g is saturated. Though an advantage of the large burritos is the amount of protein and fiber you consume, you also get a huge amount of sodium.

When thousands are spend on education that can not pay your bills and makes no use of you contribution wise, yes, it is useless. When you have higher degree but you are permanently jobless or take jobs that doesn't require special education and make you miserable, yes it is useless. I can go on forever. I am 43 Lifeisadream, not young as you keep repeating...
I eat fast food occasionally, but not often. Probably less than once a week and almost never eat chips (though I will have taco chips w/ salsa sometimes)
I try to be careful of what I choose. I'll get a salad with grilled chicken or a chicken wrap. always grilled chicken never breaded. Haven't had a FF burger in ages. If I get one it would be Wendy's - the only FF burger I would eat.
