Celine Dion's husband, Rene Angelil, died on Thursday after a long battle with throat cancer, ET can confirm. He was 73 years old.
"Rene Angelil, 73, passed away this morning as his home in Las Vegas after a long and courageous battle against cancer," his rep said in a statement. "The family requests that their privacy be respected at the moment; more details will be provided at a later time."
Angélil is survived by the couple's three children – René-Charles, 14, and 5-year-old twins Nelson and Eddy. He also has three children from previous relationships -- Anne-Marie, Patrick and Jean-Pierre.
Sadly Celine Dion also lost her brother Daniel to cancer this past Saturday, 01/16/2016. May God give all surviving family member and friends peace, comfort and strength to get through this sad time in their lives.
Fully aware of his passing...a truly dedicated husband and father,...yet I did not mention it, ...Celine, Justin....successful Canadians are often crapped upon by the populace....but sincerely, Rene was the REAL DEAL.
