Ocee102: You're talking about... MY profile>My forums> Threads/Posts I think.

I've never found a forum search box in my profile. There's a search box in the forums side bar.

It searchs the forums for words and phrases. In my case I search "Ocee102" and get the last three pages of posts that people have used the quote button to quote me in.
If I search Ocee, I get three pages of people sayin my name.

It's also useful for spotting multi profilers.

Just search rarely use words/phrases, odd misspellings and such.

While there might be not 100 % certainty but very close to shoot multiple profilers.

allthegoodnamest: I've been listening to members complaining about the topics posted recently on the forums & I have to say, it's difficult to reply to most, because there's rarely a question asked.. It seems to me that most people are too involved in their own self importance to even ask , or reply with a question posed to them.. Most people who complain are just as guilty & if the forums are to improve, we should ignore them posts , rather than make a silly remark.. Then & only then , will the people who have mysteriously disappeared , return.

Indeed! But.... I think you will find that this is a common occurrence that has been happening since the beginning of this site - and others - its human behaviour, I'm afraid and I doubt it will ever change. The best is to do just as you suggest... and ignore them?

cheers

It's seasonal. The threads become less droll and more incoherent by those that would qualify as demented upon just a cursory exam of their demeanour, their posts, etc.
Most people seem to leave during theses "summer doldrums" and return in the fall. The summer months seem to be all about vile, nasty, illiterate ,uncivil members looking for arguments and fights; just disgusting topics and posters. Including the bane of all sites, the ever present/ formation of cliques to bully other members off the forums. It's like a contagious virus of the mind, if indeed they actually have one...The 'clock' has started ticking already...uh oh

Absolutely .. Everyone has a right to create a thread on whatever topic they like, just as everyone can choose whether to reply or not. The diversity is what makes the forums so intriguing but some topics leave little, if not any, Room for a sensible conversation or discussion , other that a silly comment or a controversial debate, often leading to a slanging match due to one, or both, parties unwillingness to see the others point of view.bouquet
