maneuver1: I just had extensive testing done on my retinas due to going to sleep on a Friday night and waking up the following morning blind in one eye. No warning signs whatsoever. That is scary as hell and at this time afraid to go to sleep at night.

They determined that it was a stroke in my eye. A piece of plaque broke off from the carotid artery and floated into the small artery of my eye, blocking blood flow and therefore my sight.

It is probably permanent although there is a small chance for the piece of plaque to clear away.

Waiting on ultrasound testing performed on my carotid artery at the moment.

So i agree, don't mess around with your eyes.

I am sorry for your eye's situation Purr and I hope it will be fine or just working.

Some years back, I was offered a contract, good pay yet difficult because of the time frame so I said to them "no" and they were like "we do not need you" which I had not a problem with it. Then 3 days later they called me again...I did ask for double the pay grin expecting them to say no but they said yes. uh oh

Anyway, I took that contract and it was just extenuating, having 200+ small rural business going on in an state event, any way I did love what I was doing but my body was put to its limit and I had a problem with one of my eyes. I did go to the oculist immediately and he said one of my eyes had a stroke and he sent to me to the cardiologist as well. My cardiologist said there was not a problem.

Recently, I did notice that one of my eyes was not seeing totally right, again I went to the oculist, to my luck everything was alright except for a minor problem wich "could" be solved with some laser application but all of this after several expensive tests including the retina tests.

All of my medical care and tests were under private care but not everyone can afford that sigh

Take good care of yourself!

lifeisadream: Cool fast motion pic!

When we were living at Michigan we (my little children and I) used to go to feed the ducks during winter time and they would follow us and harass us demanding more food that we had to run to be away from them

I can just imagine you and your children running for your lives being chased by duckies. laugh I feed a bunch of ducks at the river near the nature trail I frequent and always bring treats along to feed them. They've never chased me but some are pretty brave and will eat from my hand. conversing wave

Scary indeed and I hope that it clears at least a bit over time. Good luck with your test results and keep us posted on how you make out with it. wave

Still waiting and waiting some more.

Ultrasound was Saturday but no response from the doctors as of yet.

Maybe that's a good sign, who knows ?

Thanks for your thoughts and well wishes.

Ultrasound?

The latest test I got was done with a light beam to the eyes (dilated) and a computer registered the retina images, quite state of the art gadgets (made in Germany) and they gave me all the images printed and a the files for it.

I hope you get good results.
