Hi Sunshine, very well said. When the glass breaks, it cannot be put back together EVER again.
Something inside my heart tells me that although I could bring myself to forgive, things will never be the same, because what has been done cannot be undone.
I guess that the whole thread is dealing about betrayal, although no one was blunt enough to be specific.
Even at the risk of being pedantic if I had to say that if I loved a person infinitely, the offence would be equally infinitely big. Which would make it infinitely difficult to forget and move on. It is really a case of the glass being broken for good.

May be it's a bit like an elastic band joining the 2 people together and either their are loads of little tugs, or one major one and once it has snapped when you tie a knot to fix it, well it just never feels the same again, the fragility of it remains apparent...

Realy? .. then try this one .....

The potter makes a jar, the jar falls and breaks, the potter mends the breaks and puts it all together again. The jar falls again.... but now the mended parts are stronger ... so it cracks in different places. This keeps going on, till the jar is so full of mends, its now stronger than it was originally.

.. Similar to life in that we keep making new mistakes, but if our intentions are good, we dont make the same mistakes over and over again... because hopefully we have learnt our error?

I guess some of us with several relationships past must have a few broken elastic bands in our pockets and a really strong clay pot we carry around with us... dunno

Noone is perfect and we're all prone to doing mistakes, i would give a person i really love a second chance.

It would need to start afresh tough since although i may forgive and be willing to work it out, the broken trust would need to be rebuilt again and that's a longer process. Honesty and communication is the key.

He breaks that trust again scold then he'd better avoid me tongue
