Pyrite: For me it really depends on the intended audience. I would expect directions to be specific with little interpretation needed.

The opposite is here on CS, it's all about choosing words that encourage the imagination.
I too encourage the imagination, it is good...

PeKaatje: Well, my native language is dutch, and most english I learned, I learned by listening to rock/popmusic and searching for the lyrics.
Of course I've had many english lessons at school too.
But sometimes i have to search for some words or translations. Google-translate isn't always helpful, but most of the time it is.
When I am in the UK, i might sometimes struggle for words, but the longer I'm there, the more easy it becomes.
A lot of words you don't use daily or regularly are easy to forget.
Having a large vocabulary, is just not always required, except on a business document.

daniela777: That's right! But...why do we need to be reminded of it on every thread?

People who have high IQ don't usually talk about it!
Daniela. What am I going to do with you?
People have rights to do what they find best for them.
You are not a god.
Dictating to others, you have No Rights too.

My Tinder bio features the word "eugenics" but that's the only word you might not understand. All smarts are understated to make them accesible to the common man; intelligence doesn't sound complicated it makes something complicated sound as simple as it possibly can. But of course there are still trace signals of that intelligence.

There's also simplicity confused. Religion, women and indifference to truth; the desire for a world of magic and masters and the creative stories invented to secure this fate.

Simplicity confused is more often for the purpose of a joke to the man. Feigned respect for the trivial whatever, a mock display of interest when you're talking about the healing power of crystal skulls, an unnecessarily detailed account of the dump you just had. How serious does he real feel about the small and twatty? Less religion is the outgrowth of our anti-mincing psychology, simplicity confused is self-aware and considered a joke amongst men.

You answer the questions on the site when filling out the profile. Going into great depth doesn't help. Then if you initiate contact you ask questions raised by their profile (profiles are never perfect). They reply with their answers and questlion about your profile, etc.
As for a heart attack, a 20 year old can have one of those. If he's got his blood pressure under control, shouldn't be a problem. :-) If not have him see a doctor and start exercising. Walking is best.
