Selenite: For me emtional intelligence and kindness have become super important. Academic intelligence and knowledge that have not been processed into human significance are of no interest to me. Reference material can be found all over the net, I don't need 'a walking dictionnary, thesaurus or reference book' to hug and share my life with. And then there's the eyes and the story they tell... And then there's the sense of humour and how life's little frustrations are handled... And then there's do we have similar lifestyles and are they compatible ... And then there's enjoying one another's company... And then there's that spark ... And then physically, the one thing I find difficult to imagine myself with is a man who is physically flabby... how could he dance flamenco or tango with me if he's flabby? I prefer the wiry look to the chubby boyish look. But what I like most is an attractive mind and personality
Wow, that's a tall order! My list is virtually identical, but at my age I think I will be forced to make major compromises. Of course, there is always the old tried-and-tested option - stay single.

OnlyLiveTwice: Well, yes. And comfortably so I'm sure.
Yeah! My own company is way more pleasant than the company of someone I've had to 'dumb myself down' in order to 'not offend' ...as in I'd rather be with myself than with someone who thinks I'm too this and too that blah blah .... On the other hand, I m ready to meet someone. Someone who already is who he is and of course can see I already am who I am He's out there... we shall meet...
OnlyLiveTwice: I have just received a message from a stranger on CS. The message was so intellectually fascinating, all other parameters immediately fell by the wayside. Can one fall in love with a mind, instead of a face or a body?
I wrote back, "You're more than a pretty face." She wrote back, "I am that too."
A person can 'fall in love' with anyone, it's only temporary after all. The real love may come later, for that the 'package' is much less important than the mind....just ask a blind couple.

Well, do let us all know when you finally hit pay dirt, the mother lode, or the white knight on a prancing stallion. We all live in hope.

Selenite: The prince on his stallion made me wonder ....
You tell me ... I'd rather not make assumptions ...
Think about it this way - when last did you read about a success story here of a well-liked member meeting their match and living happily ever after? We all need a success story to keep us motivated. Yours would be a welcome respite.

I can think of a few, in fact there's a member who has posted on this thread who would fit into that category.

They must be few and far between. There should be some sort of award system in place. Brownie points, or a weekend at a romantic hotel. Or chocolates. Something, at least.

I think I know of a few ... One couple I believe they are still blissfully happy!
With 2 other couples their love story was a success but unfortunately one of the people within the couple passed away
It was a few years ago... Don't know of any recent ones as I've not been here long. But, it doesn't metter where you meet the person, here or elsewhere. What matters is that someone who was a member met someone and they're happy!
It would be great if people would share thst they have met someone before disappearing
Many years ago I met someone here. It didn't work out but thanks to that meeting I now live in the particular area where I am. My plan had been to settle in a different part of Andalucia. But I like it here and stayed on. He decided to move on. Not all things that don't work out are bad

A great story! Yours sounds almost like a movie script.....'Eat, Pray, Spain'...lol.

Oh wow! That's nice. Keep communicating with her until you feel more comfortable enough to fully trust her or until she drops the ball (shows her true colors). I wouldn't give out any personal info yet, i.e. email, phone number, etc
I hope it works out for you. So far she seems very nice and intelligent as you mentioned.
