This school has brought back analog paper, pens and hand-writing as a way to make students actually think for themselves, instead of indulging in the copy/paste culture. Apparently, the physical process and tempo of handwriting promotes the development of minds and original opinions. Your thoughts?

Hand writing should not be a lost form of expression...it is interesting watching people engage in their cell phones and to not engage with people or their surroundings...just a thought...
I believe in old-school schooling. Reading hard back books for our lessons, the teacher would call on random students to randomly get a quit quiz just to be sure we were paying attention to him.
With that said, unfortunately, I feel that technology is the new norm. Students have to use and learn from their devices that does spell check and cut and paste. Students can't fall behind with today's way of doing things and they don't know anything else.
So accepting the new norm, for me, is sometimes a challenge for me because those were the good old days in my mind.

I entirely agree...students should think for themselves, and not use Google and whatever gadget as a substitute!
When it comes to languages, instead of listening to the teacher for an exanation of a word, they use their google translator for a quick and easy answer.
When I used to teach in a classroom - and still do at times - I tell people to turn all their phones off, and whatever other gadget they use.
I think the computer Technology has great benefits in today's society, But NOT in the classroom...Reading, writing, spelling, and math should be taught and learned the old fashioned way... a calculator does not teach kids to do math..without being able to learn it properly, it really hinders them in life in general...some fairly simple subtraction, or division and many are lost...
