Our day and age, there is an enormous supply of information. Source matters for me.
What’s your main source of information? Why did you choose it? Do you believe at once what you read just because you believe the source? Or do you try to cross-check / verify it in some way?
Is it important to you what source of information your partner has?

Of course the source is very important!
I have my own source and always check it up for myself.
I normally follow my intuitive knowing and also do some research..which I also check.
I once read a headline “British woman has her benefits stopped because son died in Iraq”
Story was in the papers, on several online media sources. There are those that would immediately make a judgement, take a side. The headline was totally misleading and told only a fraction of the story
Whether the story is true or not, from any source, one needs to get a fuller picture before making a decision

Sir_T: Its a hard question to answer, because franlky humany is drowning in deliberate misinformation, and, frankly. reality is losing.
I have a few rules to keep myself sane however .... Anyway hope this helps.
Why, yes, thank you!
Though, you didn't reveal yóur primary source of information. (I'm curious about what the clever people read.)
Your method is sane, but it is also very time-consuming. Is there some kind of fast BS-filtre? (Common sense and intuition... well... I have my doubts...)
GeneralBeacon: Nothing you stated really helps much considering most of your misinformation originates from hate against Trump and using sources that help you spread your delusional beliefs regarding politics. You want to appear genuine and yet like most socialists you're very unethical. The last person to find truth or justice is people like yourself who pretend to be neutral and still have a hidden agenda.
In all honesty, getting real facts these days is clouded by lies and news sources attempting to manipulate whatever we read or watch. Checking the Internet is useless if Google itself is corrupt using its search engine to get information on users for profit and only placing importance on what they want to show or promote.
Intelligence, wisdom, and extensive research in the real world are the only things that can decipher lies from reality and being neutral, to begin with. Many experts have been made to look like fools by a dedicated investigator or one who was actually skilled and committed. Everything in this world is tainted and the closer you move to socialism and communism the harder it is to find the truth.
What's your source of information then? Disney moving pictures?
Tulefell: I've heard about Duck Duck Go, will try it, thanks!
Brave browser with all the security options is probably the best also using DuckDuckGo as the main search engine where you can modify almost anything. It helps by restricting ads, lower fingerprinting and it has private windows through Tor if needed. DeepNet has an abundance of information if you know how to find it which regular Internet doesn't have and if skilled. Not for average people or everyday use. Don't use Chrome, Edge, or Apple products in my opinion.

After a quick check of Duck Duck Go I've found that it leads to the very same sources as Google: BBC, CNN, Washington Post. The only consolation - it doesn't track your activity. Or so it claims.

I agree with that! Newspaper reporters are very clever at writing the headlines with a "redherring"

At this time I wouldn't trust Disney.
Most people don't have the time or energy to research everything... sometimes it's impossible. A good profiler would suggest one thing... throw out your beliefs. political ideas and everything individuals have told you or what you have read or seen. Start with a clean plate and be as neutral as possible. Main news sources and sites are garbage... search for independent sources from both sides who challenge the main sources and judge for yourself with logic on what is bias, one-sided, or a lie. For example Tucker on Fox against Acosta for CNN. Both are questionable as they both have different political views... yet by far Tucker comes out first each time through intelligence, real facts, and great interviews seeking truth where Acosta is just a clown hating Trump. There is no quick fix here and most citizens vote based on misinformation and no clue what they are doing all based on emotions.
