He was utterly cheesy, but had such a lovely nature. Naww, I'm sorry to hear he's gone from us.

He was a kind man from the days when there was never anything good on the tv. It was easier to make people laugh back then, laughing like a canned maniac actually. Thank god the war is over and we don't have rationing anymore. Tremendously grateful times.

He was a genuinely nice and kind man, a crooner of the old school, he was a performer that even his peers liked, he had a good sense of humour, which came to the fore when Morecambe and Wise made him the but of their jokes.He was a good family man RIP Des.
