i saw burning spear at a little club called the commodore (in Vancouver) near where i lived at the time. it's a great little place with a wooden dance floor that bounces a bit...lol. saw king sunny Ade, and a few others as well. thank you for your post, it brought back a lot of great memories.
Yeah I love to get about when I can, and if there is a reggae gig somewhere I can reach then I'm packing my bag.. This was one of the best festivals I've been to though, Burning Spear with many others in the South of France is hard to beat..
it's been a while since i've been here...forgot to press right button. comment above was for this post
Abagail: I went looking for someone I left behind Yeah, but no one just a stranger I did find I never noticed, hadn't seen it as it grew The void between us where the flame turns blue
Different places, yeah, but they all look the same Dreams of faces in the streets devoured by names I'm in collision with every stone I ever threw And blind ambition where the flame turns blue
Words dismantled, hey, and all the books unbound Conversations though we utter not a sound I heard a rumor, I don't know if it's true That you'd meet me where the flame turns blue
So I venture underneath the leaden sky See the freight train with it's one fierce eye And then I listen as it tears the night in two With a whistle and the flame turns blue
That's a really beautiful song. Do you perform that one as well?
It's one of my favorite songs...and yes I have performed this one many times...

That must have been a great gig to be, little clubs are much more intimate, I miss them so much.. Glad to have brought those memories back for you..
